Another thought provoking question

If dressing was all ok in our society, I would not wear a wig or makeup.
I also don't like jewelery that much.
everyday I would wear something colorful
in the summer it would be mini skirts and hot shorts....
I'd love to try on a halter top too...
I don't think I would try to look like a woman if dressing was accepted, I almost feel that I would want to look like a woman for only two reasons these days;
1. To really see how pretty I am capable of being, and maybe stay awhile.

2. To wear the nicest dresses and stuff without getting uncomfortable attention.

I also really like the somewhere in the middle look between masculine and feminine, it's like so avante garde and free range.

what a good question..... if i could..hmmm I'm sure I would like to try to spend several days en fem....how I would feel about after that remains to be seen .. I'm not sure.... until I get the oportunity to try it I'll never know I guess.....like others have said tho.. I'm sure I would go fro more fem but casual clothes if I dressed all the time... when its just rarely I want to experience the frilly and more exagerated side of feminiity.....

I began dressing full time about 2 years ago.
Many of you commented that you model yourselves after elegant, beautiful, classy and well dressed women. Where I live and spend my time I don't see many women like that. I guess if I went to work in an office, ate at restaurants for lunches and dinners. Shopped at the malls then I would see them.
Most of the women I ee wear very little make up, if any, mostly pants and simple top, flat shoes and simple hair styles.
I met many wonderful women that were hippies in there day and still carry that with them to a certain degree. When they wear skirts they tend to be long flowing and patterned, like the kind made in India. There tops are also flowing and blousey. They wear lots of interesting hand made jeweley, scaves, flowing jackets and often Birkenstocks. There hair is usally long, not colored, held in place by clips and Scruncis. They tend to be spiritual; motivated, connected with the ancient Goddess religions. They don't wear make up and they, to me, are very, very feminine. Many also tend to be sex positive and love to play
I feel closer to them then to the women aften described here. I model myslef after them, shop where they shop and go to things they go to. I love every bit of it. It's a lofe style that suit me to a "t". I also think it makes it much,, much easier to pass.
They also tend to be open and accepting of tg women and very encouraging.

Remember,
There are lots of differnt ways women present them selves and they live many, many different, varied and diverse lifestyles.

I do get dressed up with make-up etc, now, when we go out to dinner or a party or gallery opening.
During the day it's just to much work and time and I often feel over dressed when I do that.

I know I would like to be able to dress enfemme full-time but that doesn't necessarily mean a dress with heels and hose everyday. I would like to be able to run errands in a housedress,wig,some makeup and a pair of flats. We can be lady-like without wearing gowns and dresses.it is like saying to dress manly is to wear a tuxedo all the time.
Being a lady is how you feel inside not just what you wear.;)

Since my early retirement I spend 90% of my time enfemme and go everywhere. I find that 90% of my time out in public enfemme I am not dressed in skirts, heels, etc. Usually I am in pants and a blouse or sweeter and low heels shoes or tennies. This is how most of the women dress unless they have professional positions. Now I do enjoy dressing up but I am woman no matter how I am dressed. And yes, my wife is Melanie's biggest supporter no matter how I am dressed. I was dressed down yesterday with my wife as we gave a presentation on transgendered relationships to 25 marriage and family therapists. It was fun with one female therapists who thought I was a genetic female married to a genetic female. I know a good eye doctor for her.

I understand what you mean Deborah. I think that, while i would always want to look professionally feminine, I just don't think I would go to the trouble of trying to look absolutely perfect every single day.

I'd through out all my unpretty male clothing and dress every day enfemme. That would mean panties garter belt etc. I'd wear a gown to Church and dress to make myself feel pretty all the time. I'm into this for the age thing also, it takes 10 years off me when I dress, LOL! Never would I wear common womens clothing. But only pretty La Femme things, Girlie things. Always taking the time to do my makeyup etc.

If a Girl does not do them selves up a little, why be a Girl? LOL Just dress in those old bibs and boots as you would. Thats not for me.

but only to the un trained eye, all my clothing sizes and label's are
of the womens sections , soo ya I do .......it all depend's on the
circumstance's , tottaly.......

Ok...in my case a fairly girly man, but a man all the same. I know for a fact Marla likes me in "girly boy mode" often.

Here's a scoop: The last 2 times Marla has come to me and suggested that we go out for the day, both times she suggested I go fully en femme...and both times I turned her down because I just didn't want to spend and hour and a half getting ready and making sure my make up was perfect.

What I'm saying is that having beard shadow that needs to be hidden means that (for me) getting all dressed up to go outside can sometimes be a chore. Nowadays, I only go out en femme in public when I really have a strong urge to. Dressing at home and not going out, can sometimes be more fun because I can wear anything I like and my make up doesn't have to be perfect.

So to answer your question, if crossdressing became a normal thing in society and it didn't matter that I stood out as a guy, with my beard shadow and less than perfect make up, then I probably would do it more, but for now I feel like I should make sure I present myself (in public) as close as I can get to female....and sometimes it feels like a lot of hard work.

If the world tilted and all were ok with it, I'd adorn myself everyday, no question. I know it can be a pain, but all my life I have always so envied women who get up a mess and then transform themselves into women to kill for. Would so cherish the opportunity to awaken and know that over the following hour or two I'd be able to become and live out my day as my own version of a would-be supermodel. God, what a wonderful world that would be!!! Can't imagine I'd ever grow tired of it...

Had I been born a GG i would probably wear casual clothes and not given a second thought. However, given that I came to relise my position on the Genetic spectrum, I tend to play up to my female side more. You know what they say 'Feast or famine'

I would love it if crossdressing were to become socially acceptable.
While I do not think I would want to wear skirts or dresses every day, one can still dress femme, wearing slacks etc, feel comfortable and be very presentable.
I for one, as I do now would dress to suit the occasion. This time of the year where I am it is still very cold. In the mall you see 99% of the girls wearing slacks so when I go out femme for the day I will wear a nice pair of slacks and sweater so as to fit in with the crowd. ( other than a couple of pair of shoes, I have not bought any male clothes now for about 2 years)
I am waiting till the weather warms a bit, and the girls start wearing more skirts, so i can dress as they do and feel comfortable.
When skirt wearing time comes, i think a nice denim or casual skirt for spring or fall is nice, but I would leave the dressy types of outfits, to wear if I were going to something a little more formal.

I think the freedom would be what is important to me. If I felt like wearing something feminine, I would. If I didn't, I wouldn't. It's the choice that would matter.

I think, in the imaginary scenario in the original question, that I would always dress en femme but most of the time casually (shorts, pullover tops, no hosiery, no breast forms) and with a very minimum of makeup. The more people I was going to be around, the more all-out I'd go with the makeup and stuff.

I believe I would wear heels every day, and skirts, or slacks all of the time. I'd also wear at least eyeliner and lipstick on everytime I left the house.

I'm not a jeans person, and even in drab I wear dockers, or shorts, and almost never wear jeans. The exception being jean shorts.

If crossdressing was acceptable then would it be crossdressing?

I like to cross dress at times, sometimes just panties and bras, sometimes completely: clothing, breasts, wigs, etc...
If I went to work "dressed" I'm afraid all of the guys would be trying to look up my dress......
I like to cross dress in the privacy of my own home, and rarely go out, and if I do, it's usually after dark.
