As a card carrying introvert I don't feel much need to cultivate friends, and by that I mean real friends not just acquaintances. I can count my real friends on one hand and only one is a guy. When invited to parties I will generally hang with that one guy or the gals until I can find a convenient excuse to escape. Luckily my wife feels the same way about large parties. She does have several gal friends and that works to my advantage.

I have more female friends than male and I have more to talk about with women anyway. My only manly interest are cars and women. And you can't talk about cars and women all the time. I guess I'm one of those men that can get easily into friendly zone with women.

Number one friend is my wife; my other best friends are women and I have always preferred feminine company.
