Could have been a power surge.
Our 30-plus-yearold microwave died a couple of years back. It outlasted a couple of newer ones. All it had was a knob, with an electromechanical timer that went 'ding' at the end, a Defrost switch, and a Start button. Wouldn't tell you the time of day or the weather, didn't have an IP address or an app.Nothing that stayed on in the background. I loved it. Guess that makes me a Luddite.
Yes, we have 2 microwave ovens.
You were lucky, Suzie.
I ordered a new microwave oven for the RV, should be here Friday.
As I was doing my research on which one to get, I came across something interesting!
A long time ago, there was a recall on the Samsung microwave we had. Can you guess what the problem was? ..... you got it! They could spontaneously turn themselves on, and if there was no food in the oven, it could overheat and catch on fire!
We bought the RV used, but I bet nobody reacted on that recall, or didn't know about it, I sure didn't.
So I guess I had it coming, it was a ticking timebomb, just waiting for its moment to out me! At least I was dressed to blend in and not in a short dress and high heels ;)
Suzie
So I have now seen both the male neighbors that were likely to have seen me that day when I was running around in girls clothes and long hair outside. One of them was really short with me, but might just have been busy, the other came over yesterday and was chatting for about 1 1/2 hours while I was working on something. During the chat, we were joking about me having been mostly indoors and "hiding" and he was saying that they were thinking I was either working hard, or partying hard in here!
I said, "Yeah have you not noticed all the pretty girls coming and going" and he responded "We figured they would be leaving through the back door!"
So, I feel I set the trap, but he didn't step into it, so I don't think he or any of his family saw me.
In any case, I am at a point where I don't really care anyway.
And now, I am going to go put out the trash, wearing my girl clothes and long hair.
Ah Suzie, so glad the outcome was OK - on multiple fronts!
Is it bad that I laughed? The idea of the quick-change made me think of a particularly British TV comedy show from the 70/80s (I imagined the Benny Hill theme tune playing when you were running around!)
Loved the pics you posted too!
No thats not you imagining the music Danni! The Benny Hill theme was in fact playing, I heard it too! It was followed by the Keystone Cops piano tunes!
I'm glad you laughed! I am mostly here for comic relief actually. I got a good laugh out of it myself .. afterwards ;)
