I have four levels of dressing up. If I only have an hour or so, it's just dressed fully and the wig. Two hours means I can stick on eyelashes and maybe a dash of eye makeup. Three hours means some foundation and blush, too. This is all during most of the year when I wear a covid mask to cover up the facial hair. During my couple months of full Geena time, I need about 45 minutes minimum to get fully made up and about a half hour to get cleaned up and everything put away. A three hour window is essential then. My preference is to get out for a while and more or less make a day of it.
Years (decades) ago I would have said that I needed a couple hours but as I got older and more into makeup, my time frame has expanded to 6-8. Anything less it just is not worth the trouble. Luckily my sleeping situation now affords me almost 10 hours a night of uninterrupted time to do what ever I wish. Lately it’s been sleeping but some nights I will dress up totally just for a few photos. Ok maybe not just a few. I realized I have an issue with photos after Karren got a new laptop and I found myself sorting through over 30,000 photos. Pared it down to a manageable 13,000! Lol.
I feel quite lucky to be able to have the routine I have. I dress in a dress, bra, forms, jewelry, and thigh highs every evening. About 3 months ago I added mascara to the routine. My wife goes to bed about 10 p.m. every night - sometimes a little earlier. If I shaved my face that morning, odds are I do the entire makeup thing after she goes to bed. Even if I don't do makeup, I normally (even when I didn't shave) will wear a wig and put on lipstick. I will normally be up until about 1 a.m. at which time I remove the makeup, wig, and dress and put on a nightie. If she is going to be gone for 3 hours or more during the day, odds are also good I will be dressed. On rare occasions like this, I will also put on makeup. Regardless, I do the wig and lipstick just to feel a bit more feminine. BTW, I shaved this morning and already have my bag of makeup. a wig, and earrings on my vanity. I can hardly wait for Heather to come out in full force later tonight.
