I am a retired educator with 32 years experience. I still teach two days a week (for a university) and do some consulting work for schools. Since I have a very visible position I need to sadly keep Sarah away from my profession.
I am an oilgirl, being in the oilfield for more than 25 years. My employer is very open, but my country is not! So I underdress every day with panties and knee highs, on the weekends I also wear some androgynous looking girly shoes. Always with toenails polished, lipstick and transparent mascara.
When I excercise sometimes I do it in 100% female gear. All very low key as to avoid being detected.
Retired after always working in television not on screen, but alway have been deeply in the closet. Gently pushing now retired
Heavy equipment operator, tri-axle, dump truck driver and construction manager. Always underdress and usually painted toe nails. If my co-workers only knew! Panties everyday. Sometimes a thong bodysuit. It prevents your back from being exposed while bouncing around on equipment
Hi Lisa :hugs:, I am a retired licensed master electrician and spent 40 yrs. in the down stream petroleum industry
I an just two months short of my third 25 Birthday and

I did 20 years as a truck OTR Truck Driver and also owned a few trucks for a time. Spent close to another 10 years as a dispatcher. Now I find myself in the Dairy Dept. of Walmart 5 nights a week. I always underdress, I have for years. The other night I went to work almost entirely in fem, except shoes and outer shirt. No one noticed or said anything. Actually I have 3 pair of women's jeans now that I wear quite often with the women's T-shirts I have and no one has ever said a word. The pockets are a bit shallow but the fit is amazing in those jeans. Anyway, that is my story.
I am sales in the construction industry for almost 25 years. I wouldn't wear anything the even looks fem at work.
Sara
Before retiring I worked running a die cutter making boxes witch most being printed so I didn't wear any thing good I undressed a little but not until I retired did I dress 99% of the time I'm at home.:hugs:

Underdressing at work is in a lot of replies to this question. Meanwhile in the Transexual forum there are threads on "transitioning at work" or "coming out at work". I used to fantasize being a cosmetologist completely en femme while working.
My main occupation has been in entertainment as a musician, vocalist, DJ etc. and I've never underdressed while performing. The only instance I can think of is when I worked with a female singer while on the road. On slow nights (Mondays) she would take her heels off near the end of the night. So one night I slipped her sexy heels on as a joke. Then she put my shoes on!
Engineering field and wear lingerie (panties, bra, cami/ladies tee, ladies socks/thigh highs) and light make-up daily.
I spent 40 years as a software engineer and did some cool, satisfying stuff. Mixed in with it was side work in graphic arts, theatre and "internet media creation." (Audio, video, etc.) I spent a lot of time working as a consultant and was doing so when I started sliding into the gravity well of transition. Being a consultant, my boss was pretty cool about letting me present how I liked ;) and my clients were all cool about it or they didn't hire me, depending. Now, other than the occasional theatrical or video gig I think of myself as retired. I've considered and rejected the idea of doing software work again because I consider it "his" world and he and I are done.
I am an Electrician, and no, no chance at work.
Its all or nothing with me.
industrial refrigeration operator 25 + years and own a part time heavy equipment construction company & under dressed 24/7 and wear women's more in the winter
Electrical engineer, mostly telecom.
I underdress in panties from time to time and usually have my toes painted. But all hidden. No VPL or bra straps.
I work in retail though I have done many other things. I don't underdress as a rule though I have worn tights under my trousers many times.
Fully retired for nine full years and soon to complete my tenth. I had a government job. On several occasions I wore a pair of nylon panties to work. I stopped because sitting and nylon do not work well together. Too uncomfortable. Since retiring I've tried the underdressing routine. I find it totally overrated other than I can totally understand my wife now. When she worked in an environment which dictated hosiery and heels the first thing she did upon coming home was to shed the heels and hosiery and bra. Anyway, my wife still works while I am the domesticated spouse and go about the day fully en femme.
Wow! Lots of different professions represented here! I was a CAD Support Engineer in the semiconductor industry for over 30 years, been retired for 9 years now. At work I would underdress most days, during the summer I wore ladies' sandals with my toenails painted a bright red - got a few compliments from the ladies I worked with but no negative comments ever - that I heard. Wore heeled boots in the winter with no bad comments either. One Halloween I actually wore a nice skirt suit with heels, hose, the whole package - got lots a friendly chiding but no mean comments - had a great time.
My wife retired the same time I did and now I dress as much, or as little, as I want - whenever I want. She is an amazing lady who I love with all my heart, and I'm not giving her up!
35 years in local government food inspector, took early retirement and started chauffeur driving, and funeral work. Sometimespecially u derdressed and tights, particularly in winter when working in abbatoir or standing around outside churches and crematorium.

I'm a security guard, panties 24/7 sometimes stockings, pantyhose and bra, depending on my mood. No intention of dressing at work. I told myself the next job interview I go on I will go en femm. I'm not closeted so I don't hide it but I also don't bring it up at work. A co worker friended me on fb so now she knows, let's see who she tells, I don't care I'm not ashamed.
I am an aerospace engineer. Not even close to retirement..

I own a towing company, and have been towing for 38 years. I wear panties and sometimes a sports bra to work, but panties 24/7
Retired. Former occupation was education. I was a teacher and HS principal for more than 30 years. Never underdressed in any manner. Too much to lose. After retirement have done some odd jobs and frequently underdress while working on those. Have never noticed anyone take a second look like they suspect I'm wearing a bra or panties.
Retired now, but worked in hazardous waste management. Did remediation work on Superfund and nuclear waste sites. I guess that's why everyone says I have such a glowing personality!:heehee:
Hello ladies
I am retired now but I was an installation engineer before that but in my dim and distant past
I had a job delivering to florists through the night and I had the keys to each of these premises
so apart from stopping for fuel I may not see a soul all night. During this time I used to dress
most nights, work was meant to this much fun.
Hugs
Tracy
lots of engineers! I work in a...highly visible field. That's all I'll say. But I can never bring myself to underdress. Someone said it already: I'm all or nothing
Hi!!! 👋🏼.
Oil field worker in the Middle East! Very senior field based position. Always have my toes painted and occasionally wear lacy underwear under my boiler suit :). Way more comfortable in the 50 degree heat in summer. When in the city I often wear short shorts and show off my smooth legs which feels amazing when the warm Arabian breeze hits them.
Big Rig Diesel Tech. 25 years it the same place. I wear panties and a sports bra under my uniform every day. Been wearing bra and panties all of the time for about 2 years. 24/7 panty wearer for about 14 years.
Software engineer for almost 30 years, rarely underdressing and never a thought of more until the last year. But I am not in a supportive relationship with my wife and would not be comfortable doing anything more than being an ally to my company's LGBT+ community group.
Behavior management of persons with developmental disabilities.
I work in the Financial Industry as a Project Manager. I have only rarely underdressed. Only in the cold weather. I do love to see the fashions of all of the ladies in the office. Sigh.......
Much like Ms. Vanessa_48 above, somewhat recently retired from the military (after almost 30 yr's in), a construction engineer by trade, now working part-time for a local muni pubic safety organization (love the work,... but really do not know how much longer I will stay as I am seriously thinking of just being retired, retired.......for good!!).
And certainly NO to being able to be anywhere dressed femme, except for my polished toe nails, given the hyper-masculine work environment I currently am in,...and this is still the deep South remember... Plus, as one of the others stated, I am known in my community that I live and work in, and also for the somewhat high-visibility work I did in military construction. So I am quite happy to keep things as they are.
I actually have two different jobs with two very different environments: on the one hand I work as a cook at a village inn, and the only time I encounter even the tiniest bit of awkwardness with coworkers is when a customer demands to see the cook. Sometimes the manager will get worried about the customer's reaction and get tense, but they all do a good job of not taking it out on me. On the other hand, I also work as a data entry clerk for a health care company, and I frequently get ignorant comments from male employees, usually when they are new on the job; things like suggesting perhaps my real job is to let the boss chase me around the desk, moronic stuff like that, but generally by the time they've been around for a month or two they come to understand that I'm not so different from everyone else, and more often than not we end up being on friendly terms. The female employees at both jobs have always been great, surprisingly enough, no real cattiness or behind the back snide comments. However, a few years ago I worked at a call center, and that was about as wretched an environment as I've ever been subjected to, but all things considered, my work experience has been far more positive and enjoyable than I would ever have dared hope for from salt lake city.
56, Local truck driver. Since I am very comfortable in both male and female modes, I do not express any outward femininity at work. There are elements of my CDing with me/on me 24/7 but not really noticeable to the general public. I am a serial volunteer, doing so for about 6 organizations, and always do so dressed.
Engineer like a lot of people on this thread. Underdressed on days when I'm not going to the gym on my lunch hour.
In IT can wear anything to work, but having not shared a lot with my MRS thats my limiting factor.
I'm an attorney and I underdress most days. Panties, knee highs rather than socks. In winter I wear a camisole under my vest.
Retired firefighter. I work part-time now. I didn't underdress then and don't now. I did like when we got to wear pink shirts in support of Breast Cancer awareness month.
I work at a local university in Arizona. Usually it's just panties 24/7, by sometimes I'll do a "Thigh-High Thursday" and wear stockings and a garterbelt under my work uniform. Like others have said, I love the feel of the garters gently tugging each time I take a step - it's a super sensual feeling! Wish I could do a bralette, but the work shirts are too thin and it's too hot to layer.
Currently assistant manager at a kitchen store after almost two years in women's retail stores. I underdress now only, the women here can be judgemental. I also write a little on the side at home, wearing whatever I want.
I've been retired for 15 years now. When I worked full time, I worked for a major company that was GLBT friendly. I was able to present myself as I wished and took advantage of that freedom. After I retired from full time work in 2002, I stayed on in a part time position and also landed another part time job with another major company who's policy was the same. I was involved in sales and dealt with people face to face and never had any problems. The only requirement was that I conform to the company dress code which required a professional appearance. As of right now I'm working part time as a merchandising assistant for a name brand distributor who knows about my trans life and has given me total freedom in regard to appearance.
