I really have no idea how I came up with my name,
Ginger Maxim...
It really makes me feel sexy.
I have never heard it spoken to me yet in any form, ie: in bed or by another.

My friend came up with mine.
It all started on Halloween 2009, then I skipped 2010, did it again more as a comedy in 2011 with a goatee just for kicks.. but in 2012 I got more serious and this year I went all out. At any rate from 2009 on my boss and my coworkers quickly started teasing me with the Alvina name and it simply stuck. What's more is I actually like it despite the fact that if I was put to it to come up with a name it would be entirely different. Yet still.. Alvina for ME, fits.
Ginger makes me think of the spice, either ground or as a root, as well as Tina Louise from Gilligan's Island. Maxim makes me think of the magazine as well as Maximum.
Here are images of Tina Louise, both young and old:

I LOVE THAT PINK DRESS! and I love YOU IN IT! WOW!! ASTOUNDING! Do you have a larger version I could see? DAMN.. I need to find one like that!
Alvina, I initially thought you were naming yourself after the Halloween character with a similar name. That name is Elvira, but I thought it was Alvira, until I looked it up online. Here's about the sexiest image of her that I find: http://www.insidethemagic.net/wp-con.../09/elvira.jpg.
Then I remembered that her name had an R instead of an N.
So I looked up Alvina and find that there are two likely candidates as your source:
Alvina Houghton, a character in The Lost Girl by D. H. Lawrence and
Alvina Valenta, a range of bridal dresses by Victoria McMillan.
Here are images associated with Alvina Houghton:

And here are images associated with Alvina Valenta:

Do you know if either of those is the source of the name your friends gave you?
I also find that Alvina means Elf Friend.
I assume the pink dress you like is the one on my avatar. I hope to get one like that some day. So far I haven't gone to the right stores to find one like it. But I think I will before long. It's nice to see that we both have good taste.
I chose mine as my this was the name of a classmate in 5th grade who first allowed me to dress in her clothes while we did homework together...
My name stacy came from a girl i liked (or more like wish i was) in a soap xx
Had a friend who's wife is Tessa. Fell in love with it immediately and was glad to use the name!!!
Nancy, because I have always liked the name....like Drew or Reagan....Salandro because it sounds either like some exotic spot in Italy or salacious....either works for me.
Patricia Dawn, I like the name Patricia as it is close to my real name and Dawn as I am a morning type person, I enjoy being up before everyone else and having the time to enjoy the quiet of the sunrise.
I chose Sheelah because it is kindof like she laugh!
just tried to feminize my real name, never saw it spelled this way thought it had a unisex thing going, friends can call me kelli if they like !!
Michelle is the female version of my middle name, and it is pretty.
Well, I'm a real newbie with a lot of the CD thing. But wanted to create a good sounding name for a fun/brighter personality. I'd thought of several...thought of using family names but was feeling they were a bit oldish. (that was like Lillian, Marie). Just didn't seem as exciting.
Never asked mom what I might have been if I was female..
Nearly matching RL name I used to be called Leslie.. but rather have something "I" like than using something that was teased back then.
But I really loved the Rhiannon name (Yeah.. from Fleetwood Mac / Stevie Nicks). Only thing is I didn't think I wanted that as a first name. I dug thru other names and then decided a bit rarish but fun sounding Kacey. The only thing is I'm not sure Rhiannon's a good last name. Middle maybe. So I may workup a "last" name somewhere down the line. Or I may leave it as is. We'll see.
My CD'ing adventure's just starting so we'll see where Kacey goes.
i chose SASHA...:o
i really want a change from Jennifer but can't seem to find another name I like
Maybe Ginger from Gilligans Island I do love to wear dresses
I went with Michelle for the boring reason that it was the female version of my original name. I'm usually much more creative than that tho... but it seems to work for me!
Originally it was Brooke. Why? No clue. I liked it I suppose. It also started off with the same letter as my male name. But then I changed it. I changed it to Bobbi. I went with that for a short time and realized I had to change it. Bobbi is a derivative of my male name, and is what my family called me as a child. But while growing up, I grew to hate that name. I thought maybe I could change the power of it into something positive, but alas it was not meant to be.
Nadine, my current name, again came from outer space for all I know. Spirit though, I remember that one. I had some cool last name picked out and tried entering into google for some username, and it was already taken. I needed to get done whatever I was doing at the time and look down at my cigarette box, American Spirits, and I thought hmm... that seems fitting and thus my last name was born. Now middle names... I have yet to even try that one.
Arlene comes from Arlene Francis & Arlene Dahl.
Raquel comes from the only & only Raquel Welch
My first female name was Maureen Fleming, way back in the 1970's.
Christine is the feminised form of my forename. It took a long time for me to feel comfortable in doing so but now it feels natural. For a long time I settled on Kirsty but it never felt right - it never felt like "me". My Mother always wanted a Son and never had any girls names in mind, so I believe this choice is very appropriate as it is possible that she may have chosen it had I been born female.
As for my choice of surname, I love playing with random name generators when coming with names for characters and Andrews came up one day as a suggestion. It stuck with me and yet I could never satisfactorily use it in a story. In the end, I took it as a sign when I chose to change my username here and it has stuck. It seems quite arbitrary but many of the best things in my life are those I found by accident or hadn't planned. It feels right.
Christine Andrews:fairy3:
Debbie harry was my first crush, also i fancied a girl at school called debby.
I cant remember how I picked my first but my last is my male first (my username is only partly my female name)
maybe I liked Stefani but note the spelling; I just wanted to be different!
I can remember the Arlenes; boy that gives my age doesn't it! :heehee:
When I was little I saw Whats my Line! I cant remember the host right off the top of my head but it may come to me!
Stef :battingeyelashes:
Katrina came from the hurricane that wrecked havoc on the state of Louisiana she was so fierce, strong and destructive taking no prisoners. I had to have a name that strong.
Easy, i just always thought i should be Jackie!
So, apart from having a friend called Iris (who is really a beautiful girl), its something i taught would give a pretty cool girl name. The luna parte, its because it means the same as moon... XD Iris_Moon :)
It came to mind because I had been doing family research and this was a possible match to my great grandmother. It is basically an honor to her.
A few people at work started calling me jacklynn as a nickname so I went with it. I spell it jackielynn because its more unusual.
I use Dana as my avater's name in Rockband 3. She has pink hair in a pixie cut.
I bounced back and forth between a couple names, like Mary, Lauren, Kathryn and Jacqueline before finally settling on Elyse. I had a close friend in high school named Elyse (always had a crush on her), that I would call Lysie from time to time, so thats where the username/my nickname comes from. If I had to chose a middle name, probably Marie. So I'm Elyse Marie :)
Androgylicious is mine. I feel androgynous and hope I look delicious so... there you have it!
I decided upon the name Scarlet, due to admiration of the actress Scarlet Ohara. ^.^ (Granted, it could now also be used in admiration of Scarlett Johansson too, but not the original design) ^.^
I went with "Sarah Dawson" just taking the first and last names of two girls who I thought were both extraordinary people and beautiful women. I also just liked the sound of it :)
Girlfriend saw me dressed up , and said, "I think I'll call you. Madeline." And that was it.
I couldn't really decide on a name I started with Candice, and i would regularly shorten it to Candi. Now that I am older I prefer the name Krissy or Kris when I am in male form and meeting people I don't know or don't want to know my other life.
My GG friend told me any girl with a name that ends is "y" is a ****....well if the name fits LOL
Lo (because I am short)
Jo (short for Joe)
Numbers are for confusion
I still lack a female name, I have just never been able to think of one that suits. I guess it's not really an issue until I develop the courage the start going out dressed anyway, but still... I'd like one
A lady friend of mine, upon hearing of my passion for crossdressing, coined my name: Bobra (bob in bra).
It stuck and I thank her for my name and her acceptance and support through the years.
Bobra
I always loved the name Adriana...( especially the character on The Sopranos) ...and mixing it with my last name either sounds very sexy...or like a race car drivers name...i cant tell LOL but I like it, and thats all that matters right!
Mine is easy...Stephanie... can you guess my real name?
kendra because when i first started to crossdress i idolized kendra the playboy bunny
When I was in Tri-Ess as a new CD I was Sarah Harper because I liked the name Sarah and Harper was about music. When I joined this forum a couple days ago I decided to be Laura because that would have been my name if I'd been born a girl. When my Mom told us that, my brother teased me mercilessly calling me Laura. Well he's never going to know this about me but I wouldn't mind being called Laura anymore. Collette was a name on my mother's side of the family and I like it too. I thought I had to have a first and last name here. But if not that's still OK.
I would be using the name I would have been given, had I been born a girl. However, that name is my daughter's name. So, I chose Kaylee (Firefly) because in many ways I like to think we share some of the same qualities. Taylor (Taylor Swift) sometimes, she is all I listen too. Plus, I think the 2 names sound cute together :)
My first name is a reference to the lumberjack song. The Pythons always make me smile and so the name reminds me to be light-hearted and have fun with this. Summers comes from Ann Summers, the UK retailer where I found my first pair of panties.
I went through a lot of options. Rose and Christina were two I liked, but ultimately settled on Jacqui.
I guess I'm not too inventive... A-MAN-DUH!!!! Amanda
Amanda, do remember that the name actually means "worthy of being loved"...I hope you feel that way! :)
- Amy
My wife actually chose mine for me, i was taking too long figuring it out :)
If I had been a gg as was hoped for by my mother, then she would have named me Terri, she had a boy and so I became Terry. Seemed natural and fitting to use my given name. My SO's middle name is Ann, so I am TerriAnn
According to my mum, Janet was to be my name if I was born a girl. Although I have always like the name Jackie too, so you never know ..
