Just like the guy in leathers, racing motocycles, who just passed you, has shaved legs and wearing black low rise hipster pantys!!!!!! Nothing is as it seems!!!

In the pilot profession, same macho attitudes. I snicker to myself when I hear joking about wearing pink panties. Little do they know!
Just for some contrast-
I've had a lot of jobs, some that were very professional, some that took me into some pretty old school macho kinds of environments. I grew up in the blue collar, Archie Bunker kind of place where men were men and women were glad.
But now, I work in a pretty estrogen dominated kind of place. Well, estrogen and adrenaline anyway. A lot of the people we see are trying to die, and we can work pretty hard to get them to knock it off.
The only real concern the nurses I work with have about gay men is whether or not one of their dates or potential dates might be gay. There's a fair amount of talk about fashion and celebrity gossip. And yes, women can be pretty raunchy from time to time. Or even very raunchy. And when nurses talk about anatomy, they speak from experience, I promise.
I'm often the only guy in the room. My CD-ing is occasional and pretty limited and I'm no where near ready to be out with it, so I just sort of let it wash over me and remain a little distant. And to be fair, I'm a middle aged guy working with a lot of 20-something women. They're great, but we're at different stages in our lives and don't have a lot in common.
I know of TG nurses in the hospital system, and they're pretty well accepted from what I hear. No harassment that I'm aware of, and certainly no threat of physical intimidation or violence.
While I know there's a movement to bring more men into heathcare, I hope it sort of stays like it is.
All in all, I enjoy both the change of pace and the peace and quiet.
I hate such places! I worked in IT with a few men like that... got gay-baited, and harrassed. No more... switched careers... never going back to that...!
Lots of testosterone in the trades. I spent 40 years in construction as a Carpenter.
As a Foreman, I would often hire as I needed personnel. I often hired women when I could
because I found them more quality conscious. Got flack from time to time from supers that
I was running a ***** house instead of a Housing project. I would give them the same chance
as any other man I hired. Do a good job, and come back tomorrow, if not, well by.
I always had high marks on quality and team effort and efficiency. It is my crew I would say;
And it was. Rader
