My neighbor across the street may know. One early morning as I was returning home from my daily walk, he was out walking his dog. I just said good morning as I walked past him in my pink compression shorts and pink tank top. He hasn't said much to me since.

Well I really don't care how many do but wife, daughter(21) son(24), sister in law ( 2 of them) Neice(23) nephew and a few neighbors I sure at least suspect it. other wise I haven't told anyone else in so many words. I go shopping in womens clothing stores wearing womens clothing and no one has said any thing to me all the sales associates have been friendly and helpful while in the stores. The last time I went shopping i was wearing a red low neckline top and a white bra under it and I noticed at least one person stareing at my bra cups starting to show out the top of my tops neckline. But she didn't say any thing. I'm going shopping to day also(July22nd) I'll be wearing a orange and brown print baby doll top with a red balconette bra under it.
I think most people are to mixed up in their own affairs to worry about you and what you are wearing.

I do fear being discovered for a different reason, though. The other day I'd locked my bedroom door because I wanted to slip into a skirt and a pair of tights and didn't want to worry about anyone walking in. Mom knocked on the door, of course, and I told her I needed to get my laptop off my lap and "unensconce" myself. She didn't seem like she felt anything was up so she may have believed me. I have been studying hard for the GRE though (need it for grad school) and I told her I'd locked the door because I didn't want to be interrupted (hint hint). lol It's a perfectly valid reason to lock one's door (if a bit uncharacteristic) and that may be why she (ostensibly) believed it.
Anyway, my parents will likely have a hard time with this. They're so damned traditional. For instance, my father refuses to wear bluejeans. Even if he's painting a room he wears a pair of old Dockers. Seriously! I'm less certain of my siblings, but I don't imagine it being easy for everyone and I'm afraid to face that, I guess. I don't know really how they'll take it. Sometimes it seems my dad has trouble understanding or believing my ADHD, so this may not go much better with him. He has difficulty understanding others, unfortunately.
Oh well. I still love them. They do have good hearts.

One of us, earlier in this thread, said her neighbor told her, "why did you change clothes, you looked fine the way you were" (or words to that effect).
It occurs to me that we, in our fear of discovery, or guilt/shame, may overemphasize the importance of what we do. That neighbor clearly represented the opposite viewpoint -- hopefully the wave of the future. "Oh, honey, you looked a lot better with the lipstick on than having hastily wiped it off!" :).
This is another piece of encouraging evidence in my view -- in another generation, we'll be another sub-gender, like gays and lesbians, and we'll have our matrix of compatible sub-genders, and websites to find each other. Click the boxes, and be connected with somebody who gets hot over the idea of a girlfriend who's not the least a "professional", but whose gender is chosen, as opposed to naturally selected.
Of all the potential reasons, this is truly the only one that make me envious of y'all who are younger than I. My fervent hope is that mine is the last closeted generation; yours is the first one liberated!

I'm not sure about my neighbors, but a few co-workers might have suspicions. Just yesterday one of our accountants had made a remark and referred to me as a "lady" (or at least that's what I thought I heard). I was making a pot of coffee and cleaning the counter just a bit in our small breakroom. (seems like I'm the only one that does sometimes) and she walked in and said.. "Oh, ... my favorite lady in the kitchen!". (I think she said it because I was making the coffee..again)

I'm starting to think she might have suspicions, but her comment sure surprised me, to the point I was just speechless!
Some times I do wonder, about the neigbors, and family members..and just how much they know!

I think my wife knows, but I have a hard time telling. A few things have happened over the years. For me, you have to beat me over the head with clues before I'll get it. Maybe you can tell me if you think she knows...
1. 10 years ago when we were in college she dressed me and a friend and we went to a rave party.
2. One year for halloween, I dressed as a superhero in a red bodysuit, girls striped boy shorts and frilly anklet socks. That night I slept with the socks on.
3. My wife and I sold panties on eBay and there was a period of time I wore panties because I told her "They are more comfortable"
4. She went to check her email and the stupid browser pre-filled "[email protected]" She asked me "Who is panty boy?" To which I responded that it was probably one of the guests at the party we hosted a few nights before.
5. She has mentioned more than once that sometimes I act more like a girl than she does.
6. She thinks it would be sexy if I got my ears pierced.
7. She is accepting of the fact that all my jeans are womens because the low-rise ones really do fit better.
Now that I write it all down, the answer kind of seems like, YES! OF COURSE SHE KNOWS, OPEN YOUR EYES! The thing is she was brought up very conservatively, and can less than open especially sexually. She puts up with so much from me, I'm afraid to add another quirk.
I am absolutely sure nobody knows even though I run errands in broad daylight, take trash to the curb every week, go accross the yard to get the mail, shop in the neighborhood stores and the windowblinds are usually open
day and night plus I answer the door. Yes, I'm sure nobody knows!
Yes they all know, I made the mistake of showing a coworker's wife my toenails at a baseball game. After all she is a nail technitian, and I told her all about my transgender issue. Unfortunately it turns out that she and her husband are friends of my future exwife's uncle and the word got out about me to her family. And now I know for sure that some of my coworkers diffenently know the truth about me. And I also suspect that one coworker in particular saw me and my girlfriend out having dinner and drinks one night because I know that he lives in the part of town that I was in. And I can tell my coworkers know by the comments that are directed towards me. So of the signs I have given have been my pierced ears I wear 24/7, growing my hair out, and a few times I wore my artificial nails to work. And do I really care what is said about me, not at all. I wish that my coworkers would just come out and ask me directly, but I know they won't because they are not man enough to. In truth I just want to tell everyone and get it over with, so I can move on. And if you really want to know what the neighbors think wait what is in store for them. There is going to be two attractive lesbians that are moving right across from the two T-girls. Are they going to have something to talk about or what?

I have driven past my other neighbor, our driveways are one. He just looked and thats it. I have told him before that there are things I do that he might think are strange, but thats just me. My current neighbors don't know a thing because I don't dress very often now and I haven't left the house en femme in years. But there were a couple of incidents that made me realize that former neighbors knew more. When I lived in my own apartment before I met my wife, a couple of people in my building knew about Karen, including the little old lady on the first floor (of three, it was an old Victorian mansion converted into six apartments) who was the caretaker. She thought it was a hoot and invited me for tea as Karen several times. I even showed myself off to her in my wedding gown, all dolled up -- she came up to see when I called her and she loved it, and said "Oh your mother should see you!" (of course, my mother already had, lol) And there was a nice 20-something girl about my age who didn't seem to care it was me that passed her on the stairs wearing a nice dress or skirt suit -- she smiled and said hi, and told me later she knew it was me, she had seen me come out of my apartment as Karen before. But she moved a few months later, before we had a chance to be better friends.
And back when I was a teenager, I dressed a lot more often, sometimes daily or for a few days in a row (my mother was accepting and supportive, as I have explained). Thus, I was often leaving the house with my mother or a couple of close GG friends of mine who knew about my Karen side. We only had neighbors to either side (just woods across the street) and a couple of the houses on my street also harbored kids about my age. An incident when I was younger kind of made me a little paranoid. When I was about 12 or 13, a bunch of us were outside playing, and this girl who lived a couple houses away who was a couple years younger than me mentioned to the others that she had seen wearing my mother's clothes and wearing a wig. Of course I denied it, it was her word against mine. It was true, of course, or actually, I was probably wearing my own girls clothes that my mother had gotten for me. But it ticked me off that she had obviously been peeking in the windows of my house. Anyway, the subject didn't come back up again, but it made me paranoid for a while that summer. When I started leaving the house en femme when I was about 15, I was a little more careful to make sure no one was outside. After a while though, I stopped caring who saw me en femme, so I pretty much came and went as a girl at will if I so chose.
My wife knows, nobody else does....or do they ? Here are a few close calls I have had...
I have briefly been almost face-face with an ex-neighbour while dressed. She sort of looked briefly and then carried on with her gardening. Since we moved we have kept in touch with this lovely lady and she has never once mentioned our little encounter. Maybe she thought it was my wife...I was wearing a leather jacket similar to one my wife wears.
I have also been face-face with my sister-in-law. We exchanged glances while passing each other in cars a few years ago while I was dressed. I saw her recognise the car and briefly look at me as she passed. This woman is a bitch who would be delighted to tell *everyone* if she thought it would harm me. But, for some reason, I've heard nothing.
Then the most "interesting" incident. I was dressed at a remote site at work. It was late afternoon and I was sure nobody would turn up. I decided to have a sexy fetish dressup session with my new latex dress before I went home. I stepped out of the building in my 3 inch heels, fishnets and tight dress only to see my boss's boss walking up the driveway ! He stopped in his tracks and I disappeared inside in a blind panic to do my quick change routine. I'm sure many of you are also experts at this. Well, I waited and waited but the guy never did appear at the door and I wondered what sort of reception I would get next time I visited our central office. Amazingly, I never did get any indication of anything unusual from my co-workers for the remaining years I worked with them. Maybe the guy wasn't sure who he saw. I don't know...
I know some neighbors know as I am not real careful or bashful about going out and getting the mail or getting in my car for a drive. Guess I just don't care. Having said that, I won't purposely put someone in the position of bumping right into me or go outside when their kids are right there. You have to be considerate about these things... Knowing and seeing up close are two different things. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. But I really, really don't care who knows.

:heehee: More from a previous post; other people who know the Sales Associates at a Lane Bryant store I shop at, The S/A of a Torrid store I frequent. and some of the lady shoppers I pass in th mall. Maybe the lady shoppers like to see my baby doll tops and plunge bras. Only my wife has ever said anything to me about my clothes when I go shopping with her. She also dos not like to see me wearing a bra even though I can fill the cups (44B)She thinks bras are gender specific and men are not to wear them.
I think I've been giving of subtle (and not so subtle) signs for a long time. It is almost as if deep down I am just tired of being secretive and want it to be over.
In one house I lived in, I wasn't too careful about being out in the yard dressed and am SURE my neighbors caught sight of me at least a few times, but I never heard anything from them. I've also had visitors come to the door (with a window) and knock, then wait very patiently while I frantically stripped off the dress I was wearing and scrambled to find some pants to put on.
Of course, there is also the halloween party where the major topic of conversation for several minutes was how WELL I was walking in 4" heels after saying I'd never worn women's shoes before that night! If I had thought quicker, I would have stumbled a few times or wobbled a bit. :)
I also wear tights most of the Winter instead of socks, and I'm sure that at least some people can tell the difference when they look at my shoes!
All in all, I wouldn't be surprised if I finally 'came out' and the reaction was a 'tell us something we don't know'!
In the long run, I don't think I care if anybody knows about me... I just worry about the stress of negative reactions. So if everybody knows, and I KNOW that they know, but they may or may not know I know that they know... .'ya know?
