James, naturally becomes Jamie
My guy name is Tony, but I'm wanting a different girl name.
I choose Taylor as my first name because all the way up to my birth I was called Taylor and then I was born a boy.
I choose Skyrim as my last name because it is the main setting of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and that game comes out on my 21st birthday and I like how the my name sounds.
I just changed a few letters in my real name and liked the sound of it...
I just figured you can't go wrong with Cindy. All the Cindy's I have ever met I wanted to sleep with, so maybe that means I'm sexy too. Also when I was first introduced to AOL, I had a handle name Cindy too. And tons of guys wanted to talk to me.
I'm also very open to change it as I explore this side of me more. There are plenty of hot, sexy and feminine names out there.
It has been several months since I posted anything. What better way to get active again then by starting with my name??? :battingeyelashes:
Unfortunately, the name has stuck but this girl has never managed to fully accept it as an identity (always looking for the perfect name that feels like me?). So, tonight I think I'll post some pics of me all dressed up and glamorous with nothing to hide and see what names anyone can suggest. I am a firm believer that names have deep meaning and define your personality and much more. Sometimes I think I can guess someones name based on appearances - it seems like magic. I don't know. Or it probably is the fact that no-one has ever really named themselves - from nick-names to surnames, they are always given. Without being given a name it just does not feel right.
How Britney Chandra appeared and has since existed for the past two years: (or, how I accepted my cross dressing and desire to be feminine as much as possible)
What's in a name? Well, as soon as I came to terms with CDing and quit tossing out my clothes everytime I started to feel guilty about it I had to take the next step - every lady has a name and identity so it was time I began building mine.
I'm a very geeky girl, and any of you who know Sci-Fi, Stanley Kubrick, or Roy Schieder from Jaws may recognize where my last name originated. I loved Arthur C. Clarke as a kid. The two series that I would read cover to cover every summer as my folks carted me across the country on family vacations were 2001 A Space Odyssey (which includes 2010 and others... both were were great movies but before I was allowed to watch Kubrick I had to read the book.) and the Rama series (Rendezvous with Rama is the first book).
So the Cat's out of the bag! I stole my last name from HAL9000's programmer. Kinda strange for someone trying their hardest to be feminine but then again I could always strive to be the cool hot chick that hangs out and plays video games with the guys... In the end it's all a tab bit ironic I am a sofware developer or "programmer" as the older crowd calls it.
Britney as my choice of first name is just a total wreck, shrug. I mean, I had to get a name or I wouldn't be who I wanted to be right??? So I thought of something that was first of all sexy (like a pornstar's stage name but respectable), second it had to sound young and hip just like me ;), and finally - slightly bimbostic (? is that a word???) but delicate like a flower. Something you can grab onto and hold on for a wild ride but still professional and reserved.
Sorry for the long post - it's really been wearing on my mind and I am sooo thankful to be able to share. All comments are welcome, or if you want to help let me know! I think I'll google some ladies famous in technology like Ada Lovelace for some ideas - who knows maybe tonight I will be given a name that fills a deep hole :).
All the best to everyone!
Huggs,
-Brit
I haven't picked a name out yet. I'm thinking Dana (1st crush)..can I now go back and change my member name?
since i always been called Rob i thought Robin sounded intresting
Hi, i picked my name by signing up for second life.
I haven't decided on one name, but have a shortlist. One is Rebecca, which is spanish for cardigan, which perfectly describes my favourite item of ladies clothing. The others on the shortlist are feminine names that couldn't be confused for men's names, in full or abbreviated form: Pamela, Pam, Susan, Sue, Susie, Elizabeth, Lisa, Beth, Betsy, Jennifer, Jenny. I've also considered names that have the same initials as mine, so that my credit card, etc. would still make sense. Any of these suggestions sound girlier? Or I'd be grateful to hear more feminine suggestions.
I came up with "Reyna Roland", as soon as I heard it in my head, I knew it was the name for me!
I'm new to all of this, but I have known for quite a while that my parents thought I was going to be a girl till about 2 months before I was born, and for a long time they had Emily picked out. Since I'm not really a big fan of that name I chose a close derivative, Emma. And for a last name I wanted to use something of a character I love from TV. Since one of my favorite shows is How I Met Your Mother, I wanted to use a derivative of Robin, so I ended up with:
Emma Robyn
I dubbed my femme persona Kimiko or Kimi for short. Taking on my Japanese background as well as keeping a cute nickname. ^_^
My femme self just knew she was Katie. No questions, just always was. Last name is not important, but for some reason "Smith" keeps popping into my head.
I came up with my female name mandy, because it was the name of the first girl i ever had a crush on in 7th grade.
My wife suggested Valerie and I liked it because it reminded me of valor, courage, which I must have...
Valerie
When chosing my female name I felt I had to chose something that was similar to my boy name...
My girl name is John. It's cuz I don't really take on a female persona. Even when I got my wig and makeup on. I'm still merged. But if a girlfriend or a boyfriend names me, I'll answer to that name.
A cute name that stuck over time.
I have always called myself marianne - i have also met many other people with the same name who i liked so it all fitted together. I also have a femme surname - it all just happened and feels sooooo right x
It's a combination of my name and location, quite clever I think. LOL. Well maybe not that clever.
I named myself. Gigi sounded like a cute name and also, Its my lady's nick name. I figured, why not?
I started out as just Lori until one day a good friend started calling me LoriSue. I liked it, and it stuck.
Besides,......Southern girls just HAVE to have double names...like bobbie jo, or bobbie sue
Whatcha think Ya'll? *giggle*
LION KING!! <3
I fell in love with the lioness Kiara's name after the first time I'd heard it. I decided to shorten it a syllable, and came to Kira. Totally cute, and is perfect for dark-haired girls =)
back in the late 90's when i hung out alot in yahoo chat,i wanted a fem name to cruise the bi/les rooms,, ive always thought the name cassandra had class and 22 was the age i wished i was, lol,,wrong i know but i found out it really brought out my fem side as im sure my fem friends never knew,.now a days when im in a dress or gown,im cassandra but dressed in younger clothes and im cassie,,
Mine is the name of my first ever crush, the fact that its welsh which im very proud to be and its close to my male name
It was Rhiannon at first but it got shortened by my GG friend becky and it just stuck
Mine came to me so easily. it was years ago and I had never heard the name Kendra before so was a little concerned about using it but just could not get over how it fit.
Kendra is short for Ken in Drag
Kim is my given name...oddly enough, one of my GG friends (I'm not officially out to her yet) started calling me Marta several years ago, when she made me an unofficial member of her girls club. I rather like the name, but stick with Kim nonetheless.
There was a girl in my high school named Adrienne. I did not just want to look like her, I wanted to be her.
She was always perfectly dressed--always dresses or skirts. She wore two-inch kitten heels, which were strictly forbidden, but everyone, teachers included liked her so much no one enforced the rule. She wore makeup as many HS girls did at the time, but she did not overdo it...SHe often wore a bow in her hair, too.
She was nice to everyone and hung out with every group of kids-"cook" kids and not so cool She was genuine and popular with everyone...and God was she pretty....
My wife picked mine because she knows I like Jessica Alba.
a few years in college I lived with girls, and they just started calling me lexi instead of alex, so I just kept that name. They did not know I dressed
I picked mine because my other name starts with C as in Charles AND A as in Allen and I like the name Cynthia Ann!
Mine just because it is close to the masculine version of the name...easy to remember!
Just extended my male name of Glyn to Glynnis.Seemed logical to me.
I suggested "Camille" to my SO. It's a originally a French name that means "perfect." She chose the last name Leon...Camille Leon...chameleon.
Wendy cared for the Lost Boys in Peter Pan....and I took this name after reading the book back in Junior High school.
Marie was my Grandmothers name who I was very close and fond of...she passed away at the age of 96 and was a pistol right up to the end.
My middle is Daniel, that was easy. The N is for Nicole, the name of the first of many who got away:(

Back in January of 1974, when I was twelve, TIME magazine ran an article entitled "Prisoners of Sex". It told the story of Rachelle McAdam, a Utah teacher who was fired for being transsexual. While I had been aware of the existence of SRS this was the first time I had a real person, with a real life, who had done what I dreamed of doing. She became my hero. Though her name is probably pronounced "rah shel", I read it as Rachel. And Rachel I am today.
You can find the article on the TIME website. But the picture that originally ran with it is not included, so I am posting it here.
I chose the name Marabelle because its not that comin & I had afriend along time ago named marabelle
My wife chose mine :-)
It starts with the same letter as my own name (which has no female version), was the first name of my first close childhood friend, and I just like it (and even the male variant, Jesse, probably because to me even the male version sounds pretty and somewhat feminine).
Im not really quite sure how I came to go by the name of Nicole. I know I have had some friends in the past named Nicole and I just really liked the name. So I adopted it for myself and have used it ever since.
i chose tammi from my given name, but ogles means to stare at lovingly; adopted from a co-worker's last name
FAYOLA it is. A name for a black lady i would like to be.
Raven Gwendolyn Falls,
Raven is the name my mother would have named me if i was born a girl.
Gwendolyn is the name i would like for any future daughters to be named.
and Raven Falls just sounds right to me.
My first name is Derek, so Erika just kinda happened one night. It stuck, and now that I think about it, I've always admired (and had a crush on) pretty much every Erika I've ever met, so I'm happy with the name.
Mine came from a girl I new and secretly loved about the time I left school. We knew each other for a number of years and she became a very good friend and the GF of a good friend of mine before moving away. We met through my GF so she was out of bounds "sigh". She had a lovely curvy woman's body and was just a fantastic person. If I were a woman I'd want to look and be just like her. I loved her name so when I decided on a girls name for me the obvious one was Natalie.
Kiersten, because I'm Norwegian!
