I started with a list of names I liked (there was an April, Imogen, Annabel, and others, including Hannah). So I gave them a try and finally settled on Hannah, for a few reasons; first, I didn't know any other Hannahs so it wouldn't remind me of anyone else; second, I liked the soft, simple sound of it; and third, and possibly the most nerdy reason, it's palindromic, which I like :)

After toying with a few options for a few years, and just sticking with ?Giddy? for lack of anything that feels right, I think I?ve found my ideal femme name at last.
My legal / birth name starts ? G G x x x x x x x
A short while ago, I received a letter through the post in which my name had been misspelled.
It was addressed to G G Loveland.
Suddenly, it felt as if I had been given my ideal femme name? first name and last?
Gigi Loveland !
I think I?ll still keep the name Giddy as a nickname and forum name though!

Hello, thanks for this great thread,
it's interesting to read how each one has a good and very specific reason for choosing a name...
At the beginning of the comeback of my crossdressing behavior, ten years ago, I chose for myself the name Naomi because I was a great fan of Naomi Campbell. I also felt a kind of rebellious urge to go against the gender norm society had put upon me since childhood. I was reading the books of Naomi Klein at the time. Naomi helped me cope with all the difficult questions I was facing regarding my gender and what I wanted for my life and for my future.
After a few years, things went smoother, and I felt the desire to go for something more delicate, more tender, like Vanessa, and other names I went through...
With time, I was also less and less interested by the thought of having a completely new feminine identity, and tried to build girl names around my boy name, but it wasn't really satisfying...
This was years ago, and for many reasons my crossdressing habits evolved into something lighter and less time consuming. I stopped giving myself a girl name...
Until several months ago...I came back to the joy of crossdressing, processed it with my therapist, realized that for me it was like a marvelous dream...Which in French is translated by "Reve"...And out of this dream, suddenly one night, or one morning, I woke up with the name Rose...Like a flower opening itself, reopening...
And I should say, I'm a great fan of the character Rose in the show Two and a half men ! Except for her dark sides :)
The rose is also a magnificent symbol, pointing at all directions, and standing for the idea of successful transformation in the history of alchemy...
So Rose it is !!! And I'm very happy with this one, more than with any other before.
Thanks for your attention, all the best to you all,
Rose

Mine is Ana Veronica, Ana my ex-wife, Veronica my high school crush. Both are my femininity character role model, learnt alot from them, and trying to be them.
-
I went with Nicole. I just always loved the name.
-
The first, well only, female friend I told about my crossdressing helped me pick it out. My boy name also starts with M so it seemed a good fit. I am just not sure I look like a Mercedes but I aspire to.
-
My female name is a play on my second given name which has quite a family history. The first part is the feminine of my second given name and the second relates to references I saw/heard relating to the first word in music/literature. It is a name I'm very comfortable with.

Catherine-Anne is what my parents named me when they thought I was a girl. Turns out they were right.
-
It took me a long while to find my female name. When my wife asked if this newly discovered side of me wanted to be called something different I began to think it through. I made a list of names that interested me, but one jumped out right away, Verity. As Veritas is truth, Verity is me, living my bi gender truth as my more authentic self. It feels good to finally let her out :)

I chose Evelyn because it sounds old fashioned and I like old fashioned lingerie.
-
My wife has accidentally revealed my female name recently. This way it became my real and "legal" name I identify with as a part of my female nature.
-
I originally went with Frannie because I was getting a makeover at janet's Closet and was asked for my femme name. I said "What?" I had never heard that term before. I thought of the first thing that came to mind (similar to my dad's name) Later when I had more time to think, I wasn't really happy with that. My friend agreed so I chose the name Donna because she was one of two twin sisters who died just after being born.
-
I was going through names seeing which one seemed to fit and Abigail/Abby just seemed to click.
-
Hi everyone, first post here . My name is Roberto (spanish by the way), so Berta was a easy choice for me.
-
Hi. I chose April because of two reasons. one I was born in April. two because I am writing a novel who April is one of the main characters.
-
Shelli
My name, Shelli, came to me instantly and without hesitation. It just kind of rolled right on out of my mouth the moment I considered that I would need to have a name for this wonderful gurl who lives inside of me. I am sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I love walking on beaches.
-
Xanthemae is a name that came out of my thoughts when I realized that I need a name and my wife said that it sounds like a name that I use in the video games that we play cause I can easily come up with odd avatar names and Aroara is a beautiful name that just sounds right and I got it from a small town we drive through when we go on vacation I changed the spelling a bit

My girl name is Gina Lester. Gina bc there was a movie in high school that Gina Gershon was in that she was SO hot that it made me want to be a girl. She seduced a guy and I knew at that moment that I wanted to ve like her and was attracted to men. Lester bc there was a friend named Danny. Haven?t seen him in years but I would give anything to be with him again. He is married now so no go. Lol

-
Pauline after my guy name Paul, partly because I get called that anyway. But I see myself as a Katie as well. If I ever come out I think I'll go with both and be Katie Pauline 👩
-
Sounds like a good name to me.
-
Nala
It doesn't really mean much to me but it was the name I gave a female video game character once in world of Warcraft decades ago, lol
-
I chose Candice Cain as a slightly more refined version of candy cane. I always like the name Candy.
-
I did not choose a girl name because my reason for xdressing is not about wanting to be a woman. I just like to kinky. I hope this doesn't offend those who go all out with wigs, makeup, and stilletos.
-
I choose Jenny as my male name was John.
