No, I'm not that high-tech. I decided to let my son keep the old camera and get a new one for myself, so I've been doing the research. Want to make sure I get all the features I want without breaking the bank. So, I found one (I think), I just have to go pick it up. Yup, it'll be an early pressie for me. :D

[Edit:...btw Lex, you don't have to post like full pics of you if you're not happy with your look yet,... you could just show us sections that you feel comfortable with... like just a close up on a bit of stubble, or your hair, perhaps a little leg fur or something, stuff like that...]

well the day captlex shows a picture of himself. is the day I go out buy a beautiful dress and take my picture and post it... as you know i have never worn a dress and it won't happen he he he not unless i lose 40 pounds :happy:

It looks like quite a lot of dark stubble there... how people call you ma'am when you have stubble (and that nice square sidey) is beyond me! Lol the fools.

If you think the quality wasnt so good, you should see it at my end.... I am sure though that the stubble is showing even if this LCD cant show it.

Okay so try this. Get as much light in your room as possible. Then set the camera to do an automatic white balance. Set it on a table and set the automatic timer then hop into the picture and smile.

That should do the trick for you. Let me know how it comes out.

I've been playing with it, but haven't read the manual (I'm a guy, you know), so I have to figure out where all that stuff is. I promise to try again when I get home.

Also you should realize that the camera will have a minimum focusing distance where if you are closer, the autofocus wont work. Best to take a shot from about 4-5 feet away then edit it.

The white balance should be on the menu system.

Yup, the manual can be a good thing.
