Locked out of motel room! Caught!
Last night, I stated in a motel, a busy one, and decided to dress up, go out on the deck, third floor, a number of times, and was seen by about ten people in all, including young ladies on the deck next door to mine. Later, I watched "Castaway", on tv. Nice mirrors, in my room, allowed to me to strut around, and see Louise, head to toe. It was my gray and black tight sleeveless sheath dress- very sexy! Finally, I decided to carefully check, to see if the hall was empty. It finally was, and Louise stepped outside, in her 4" black patents. Slam goes the door! At that sound, I realized I was in deep doodoo. What can I do?! I just stood looking at the door, for several minutes, while hearing voices down the hall. They left after a few minutes. This resort, was full of parents with kids. What will they do, if they see a great big tall guy in a dress? Good thing i had my gray wig on! Finally, I knew i would have to get the courage up, to go down three floors, to the front desk, which usually has four workers, and ask for a key! I decided to slip off my heels, and leave them at my motel door, and go, in my hose. The moment came, amd i started walking, but, after about 50 feet, a man shows up. I ignored him, pressed the elevator button, and down i went. When that bell went off, and the door opened, my heart must have been going full tilt. I walked the 25 feet to the desk, talked to the ladies who had checked me in, and told them i was locked out. She asked who i was, and i told her my name. I said it was a costume! I said i have been told i look good. No one said a thing, and she handed me the key, I said thanks, in a botched voice, and headed for the elevator again. A number of teen girls were coming down the hall, and were all watching. I pushed the button, waited 5 seconds or so, then stepped in, and thankfully no one else on board. Up it went, and the bell rang third floor, and i strttted out, headed around a corner, and there was another older man. I just passed, trying to walk female, and he must have watched me for 15 seconds, as i walked passed him, 50 feet to me room. Never has a door opening sounded quite so nice! This morning, the desk crew was different, but, they may have heard. Now that its over, that was fun! But not at the time. I had not been seen by the public, in a few years.
electronic keys are of the devil ;^)
EVERY, and I mean every time I have gone to Vegas, my room key misfires at least once during my stay; usually late at night (or early in morning) is when it chooses to humble me. Down to the desk I go, usually worse for the wear after a night of dancing, to beg a new key.
It has become a Vegas tradition ...
Cell phones erase magnetic strip on room keys.
I had the same experience a year ago. On a business trip to Memphis, I stayed over the weekend to go out on the town. On the first night, I discoverd none of the 3 room keys would work to get me in the side door, so I had to go around front and enter through the lobby.
No problem on the first pass by the clerk. I walk to the end of the hall, and none of the keys will open the room. Back to the clerk and the anxiety of discovery. I had stayed and still stay at this hotel very frequently and the staff knows me by sight and name.
When I ask for a new room key, the clerk's eyes just about pop out when he figures out who I am. He smiles, reprograms my keys, and says have a good night.
Nothing has been said since by any of the staff during the remainder of the weekend or on any return visit.
Although I had 3 good room keys when I left earlier in the evening, it turns out that through a series of coincidental events they were all erased when my cell phone ended up being next to them. Had one in my pure, one in the console, and one on the drivers door.
