Sometimes getting "clocked" can be funny

Last night my wife and I went to a show at a local casino. After we where seated (I was wearing jeans, a black cowl neck top and a funky green type shrug.) I noticed a woman in the row in front of me and to my left was just starring at me....I just looked at her and smiled. Now she's whispering to boyfriend/husband, but he doesn't turn around to look...she keeps after him to look...and after an elbow to his ribs, he finally turns around and looks...again I smiled and shrugged my shoulders. Sometimes it's just fun to watch people's reactions....:D

Thanks for the story. I have had similar experiences, but only very rarely. I always smile back, wave and if the opportunity arises, I will go say hello! It is a lot of fun.

Ya, but getting clocked by 20 something GG's is a different story... They laugh, point and make a scene... "Oh my god, it's one of THEM", she said bending over with one hand over her mouth and the other grasping her stomach like she was going to puke... That one sucked. But I got back up on the horse and went on riding..... nothing since that one.. Which was about a year ago.

I will point out that you were not necessarily "made." They may well have been discussing something other than your gender, such as "isn't that a tall woman?" or even "Look at that painting!"

I normally give them a pretty little wave as well, do feel sorry for Hubby being bullied like that, that I might have been tempted to inquire about his rib injury

I used to just make a funny face back at them when I noticed someone spending too much time oggling me.

Below is an experience we had in a pub some time ago that I put on flickr with the photo of what I was wearing.

Another shot of the outfit. As I mentioned I went for a drive and Sunday lunch. What I did not mention is what happened. The pub we chose was quite full so we ended up sat quite close to a couple of women early 40's I'd say, smartly dressed. One of the women kept looking at me. This did not bother me as I assume she was trying to suss me out. After our drinks came and before we could order, the woman leant over and whispered "Are you a Man?" I was taken aback a bit but just said "Yes, if you are uncomfortable with that I'll leave". no she said she just had to know and went on to explain that she has a brother who is a crossdresser and it did not bother her in the slightest. After that we had a very interesting conversation, we even pushed the tables together to have a good chat. They both went on to explain that they have been in a relationship for some time. We exchange Emails and parted company after 3hrs.
So thanks Wendy and Samantha it was a pleasure meet you.

An update to this is we are still in contact and have met for dinner twice and they are a pleasure to know.

I did ask her what gave me away. Wendy said my wide back and shoulders.

Me and my 3 of my daughters went out for a girls day. Wife didn't want to go soooo. But in one store a woman made a comment when my daughter said dad check this out. My daughter made a comment back and we decided to just continue shopping. I was really a fun day. Still never had another chance. Even tho I keep hinting about it.

It's kind of funny when they continue to look at you anyway even if they suspect. It kind of makes you feel like a woman probably feels when being looked at by tons of guys. This somewhat gives you the power to have the choice of who you want to look back at or possibly talk to. Beauty is power in that respect.;):battingeyelashes::)

So I would just own it an that would freak them out the most . If you were in Drab Mode an seen a girl that looked just like her would you think Bad or Envy her ? Maybe the woman was saying LOOK HONEY that guy does the same thing you like to do ? Maybe they are one of those girl on your CD site ? An maybe the woman was saying I told you to wear what you wanted ?

I go out to diner on occasion with a group of other crossdressers. Last moth when I entered the restaurant, there was a table near the door with a group of men in their mid 20's. They all turned and looked at me and watched as I walked over to sit with my group. As each other CD came in, the table of guys turned and did the same. It was kinda fun watching them. I so wanted to go over there and sit with them, just to be the shock of their lives.

My one funny experience was when I went out to a restaurant with a GG friend of mine. We were seated quite central and opposite us was a table of folks engaged in a party of their own. One of the women at the table began to stare intently at me . . . hey I get it as I am not fooling anyone so I just smiled at her and went about my conversation. She continued to stare then leaned close into her friends to impart what I could only assume was her take on the "dude in the dress" (I was wearing a dress BTW). In fact you could almost read her lips "Don't all look at once but that is a guy in a dress" and what did they all do . . . "looked at the same time". It was quite funny as it almost appeared choreographed. So what's a girl to do . . . I smiled and waved most of the guys looks away real quick, the women just went about their business with a slight shrug and "little miss looky-loo" never looked my way again.

I was enjoying a spring day having lunch with a GG friend when I caught a glimpse of two women at a nearby table quietly, but still obviously amused by my presence. I smiled back when I made eye contact and put it out of my mind.

Maybe I just never noticed. I do not really pay much attention to other people I do not know so if they look at me I am not aware of it. I usually just go about my business and really am not much aware of how I look once I am out of the house and not in front of a mirror.

Maybe the hubby was one of us, but deep in the closet, and didn't want to embarrass a sister.

Diana, Ann and Isha - they are three lovely anecdotes and all three of you (and others, I'm sure) are inspirational examples of how we all could and should be. Kudos! (do people say that anymore...?) If you can hear a scrabbling it's because things like that make me want to get out of my closet and get into the big wide world... :eek: what am I saying! One thing I'll say for my month here - if it ever happened that I clocked another CDer and received one of those cheeky smiles or waves, I'd be right over to have a coffee and chat! Yes, I would... :cheer:

Back in the summer I decided to dress and picked out a black and white maxi dress nice sandals and rolled my wig for some nice loose curls.It was a very good make up day and everything looked right as rain.
Did some grocery shopping went to the hardware store etc.Decided to get dinner at Red Robin because the avacado burger is awesome.
Walked in the hostess seated me and was very nice,smiled and chit chatted to my table.
I sat down and she said I love your wedge sandals they are really cute.I thanked her and my waiter came up.
He introduced himself and took my drink order.
Two tables away was a group of softball players mid 20's guys all of them and they were all getting an eyeful.
One guy poked his buddy and said "hey man that lady that just sat down over there she is hot don't you think?"
His buddy looked up and said "Dude I think thats a guy but if you think she looks good go ask her for a date."
His buddy got real quiet after that LOL.
BTW my waiter was very nice, treated me well and got a nice tip for being a decent person.

I am sure there is some we notice and a lot we don't. The advantage of going about our business.

One I did notice was a couple of years back I took a friend shopping at a Tanger Outlet. Well, she made the mistake of wearing tall heels and we took a break at a table along the walkway. While we were talking, I noticed a woman approaching and she was severely elbowing her husband in the ribs while not taking her eyes off of us. I just looked up and gave her a big smile. Her husband never paid attention. Probably had no feeling in his ribs from years of elbows. So they turn into the store right in front of us and she pops up just inside the winder and presses her face against the glass with her hands shielding the sun and looks at us again. I smiled again and waved trying to hold back the laughter. It was just a bit (okay a lot) over the top.

A few years back the wife and I were on one our get away weekends. I always dress when we leave the house and spend the first day out as Danielle and this day I had chosen a long skirt and a turtle neck sweater. We had stopped at a shopping center grocery store to pick up some light snacks for back at the hotel and I told the wife if she got the snacks I would get a bottle of rum at the liquor store. As I was walking back to the car I noticed a man and a young boy looking at me. I got back in the car and saw the boy staring at me and pointing his finger at me. I was starting to get nervous and wishing the wife would get back to car so we could leave. After a few more minutes seeing the boy looking at me and talking to the man, the man got out his truck and walked over to my car. By now I was in panic mood expecting the guy to start giving me hell. As he got to my car he very politely said"Sorry to bother you lady, but my son noticed your skirt got caught in the door as you closed it and part of it is hanging out the door". I thanked him and opened the door and gathered the rest of my skirt in. Oh god was I relieved.

I am partial to the 'androgynous look' sensible shoes, elastic waist jeans, woman's top and usually a man's hoodie --- because the fit is better. No make up, no wigs, and I am standing in a crowded grocery store checkout line. Behind me I hear a young boy tells his mother that's a man dressed in women's clothes. The mother hushes the son. I turn and tell the mother 'that's ok. a lot of people make the same assumption. Your son wasn't the first, he won't be the last."

As well as being an anecdote of my own, I suppose this is going to be a bit of an admission or confession as well. I rarely dress "age appropriate" and because of that I know I stand out whether there's a crowd or not. And I almost always wear high heels, 4 or 5 inches.

Right before Christmas this year, I was at a Burlington Coat Factory not far from home wearing a winter white two piece suit, shiny pantyhose with very little color (in fact, they were Hanes Alive--Little Color), and pretty tall bright red heels. I was actually shopping for my little sister who is a real looker, younger than me, and leggy as all get out.

While I was looking at their shoe collection, a demure, mature, good-looking lady walked up behind me and simply said, "Killer legs." She continued walking past me and I almost peed in my hose. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or what. What could I do but let out a hushed "Yes" and give myself a good fist pump.

Made MY day. Did she clock me? I don't know and don't care. That comment is stored deep in permanent memory.

I really enjoy passing and being discovered. When I dress am almost always out of town and in the big city almost anything goes. Many people I meet out at night ( mostly women ) really are intrigued by how I'm able to look the way I do. The nails, breast, cleavage, clothes, legs and so on. A lot of them treat me like a women and have girlly conversations. Many want a hug when we part ways. A few want more but that's not for me. I'm a one woman type of guy.
