Wearing The Clothes

Do CD's enjoy wearing and the feel of female clothing more than GG's? I say yes, to CD's the feeling is sexy, feminine and it make's you so happy. For some it changes you from a blah male to the feeling of what it's like to being an attractive, sexy, feminine woman. It honestly can be compared to the build up of an orgasm. From putting the first piece of clothing on (panties) to your last piece is a continual build up of pleasure. Women on the other hand wear the clothing to look nice, having worn them since birth they are just clothes to women and bra's are a pain. And the irony is society says men can't wear female clothing. Does getting dressed and the wearing of female clothing turn you on as much as it does me? It totally transforms my mind/mood from O.K. to WOW.

If you mean do I feel empowered? The answer is yes.:)

I know that I really feel wonderful when I see that pretty lady looking at me in the mirror.

I think I roll elements from all of your responses into how I feel.

Right now, I am in drab. I feel disconnected from my clothing.
Not to the point where I will do something about it, but I do not
feel that my self matches what I am wearing.

Now, when I go out, and when I put on a dress, perhaps a
blouse and skirt, the bra, the wig, and the perfume, I feel very
sexy, confident, and empowered. These feelings have allowed
me to resist the pressure not to CD because of what others might
think. The way I figure it, I don't care if they have an issue with it.

As Blue Orchid said, women certainly feel sexy when they dress
up for it. The way I buy my clothes allows me to at least make the
attempt to look good every time I CD. I don't just buy the 3 or 4 pack
of T Shirts from Fruit of the Loom. I've gotten into buying T Shirts from
White Stag or George, which are more around $5 for one, so a higher
quality. I buy skirts and full-length dresses that I KNOW will look good
on me, and I have gotten compliments on my outfits, which then leads
to more satisfaction with my looks, more confidence, and more empowerment.

Its like a release valve on your psyche. The beauty is it can be whatver you want it be. Sexy, empowering, "normal", permissive... the list goes on. And what it does for us can change daily.

But to answer your question directly. I am a little giddy while getting dressed but enjoy the end result more. When im done dressing my mental attitude is " ok gurl, now get out there and be the best woman you can". I often fail but enjoy trying

I am a GG. I am not exactly a "typical" girl. I think I tend to fetishize overtly feminine things like high heels, lingerie, & makeup. I enjoy these things on other people, male or female. I also enjoy them on myself.

My job is running a home & family, which means children, school, housework, errands, & all these unsexy, necessary tasks. I often go days without makeup, often wear things like leggings & baggy shirts, jeans & tank tops, & rarely do my hair. That is my work attire.

When I have the time & reason to dress up, I can sometimes spend 2 hours on my hair, makeup, & primping. It feels good to take that time to bring out my femininity. I finally get to look in the mirror & think "I'm BEAUTIFUL!" I instantly feel confident, sexy, & so much more like myself. I hear a lot of CDers describe this transformation similarly.

As well, even if a particular item of dress or lingerie happens to be uncomfortable, if it is pretty, form-flattering, slinky, sultry, or anything that reads, to me, as ultra-feminine, I *feel* good in it (at least until the end of a night & I just want that underwire to stop poking my armpit).

I love the feel & look of all things feminine, on me or my husband. I love cosmetics. I love the smell of makeup. I have shoes that have never seen the world outside my bedroom, but I have them because wearing them for my husband makes me feel sexier.

Like I said, I'm not really a typical woman, but I bet other GGs feel somewhat like this in regards to their options of attire.

We all have "drab" and "dress" modes, however we choose to define them. It's all about what makes you feel good about yourself.

If women were as blasé about their clothes as your post hints at, there would be no Victoria's Secret or other sexy lingerie on the market, high heels would be practically nonexistent and most of the clothes you'd see would look more like what the Amish wear.

MOST CDers will use certain female clothing items as TOOLS to help get them to O land. [eventually] Obviously we are not talking granny dresses and flats here...

Are we? I DID take the liberty of starting a thread in the P&V gallery on granny dresses and flats.

Females also use certain female clothing items as TOOLS [but NOT to help them get to O land] but to "attract" more men. [which gives them a much greater choice in mates] Their CHOICES in how they present themselves allows them more power. Men don't gain power from their presentation but they DO get to choose what to wear and in Florida we can shop in any department in any store. What a great state!

Not surprisingly, it's the same types of clothing articles that many CDs prefer, along with centerfolds, hookers and porn stars.

It's neither complicated nor mysterious. It's just Evolution at work. It's not changing anytime soon and no one can control it.

Yes deebra - this specifically of what you have said strikes a chord with me - as several others have added similar comments - and it goes beyond (or ahead of!) wearing the clothes, as makeup comes first! (just like GGs...) It is a transformation process and that itself goes a long way to providing me with a great deal of harmony...

I can't say I end up looking like a porn star or a hooker... nor actually that there's anything wrong with that if that's what you want in the privacy of your own home... or even at a convention, if it's right for that... :)

Does it mean more to us than GGs? Probably - in the same way driving a an exotic sports car for a day may mean more to an individual who will never afford to own one, than it means to an owner who collects them by the dozen. We emulate what we adore but can't really be... it means so much to us, and perhaps is only approached by the feeling a GG may have in getting dressed to the nines for a special occasion...

Robyne says that she feels confident, sexy, and more like herself after getting all dressed up. I feel much like that whether I'm dressing in my tux or in my new red dress. We spend the time to make ourselves look as good as possible, how is that not going to feel good?

Last August the last of my five daughters got married and I got all done up in my tux and after looking at the pictures I thought that I look pretty darn good for a 73 year old dude. I like tht feeling. Two days ago I got all done up in my new red dress and went out for the evening looking pretty good for an early 60s lady, I like that feeling too!!

Bra's are a pain to me too LOL....but I hear you...I love my girly clothes....I also feel it goes way beyond what is draped over your body, its internal.

Girl's clothes, all of them, are much more fun to wear. Guy's stuff is just so boring.

I must be a CD because i love wearing the cloths from panties to bras to make up wig and forms, i just wish i could dress 24/7. Yes it totally transform my mind and personality. I am a differnt person dressed.

Having been a crossdresser for over 60 years I don't really know why I do it. My late wife liked me to wear feminine clothing, and I did it most of the time once our children were grown up and out of the house. Now I wear male clothing only when I am going to be around family. As I write this I am dressed fully feminine and have been since I got up this morning. It is now 1:53 P.M. Eastern Daylight time! I am much more comfortable in feminine clothing, and I do normally wear panties and a bra all day every day, even when around family! BTW, I do fill a 40 B bra without any forms!

i enjoy wearing women's clothes far more than my male clothes, in fact i dont need a gg to please me lol my soft silky undies do more than satisfiey me than any gg could!

I think you are asking the about exact things that us Crossdressers all shared on the first steps of our climb to where we are now. It is not as earth-shaking now but is still just as real and euphoric, but honestly age does have a dampening effect on the urgency. From what I have read here and other places seem to show that transgendered people don't have the same tactile or fetish stimuli for the duration of time through out life as it remains with others. But I learned long ago to enjoy it and make the most of it. Now that I am older and less adapt to the art I wish I had indulged more and made more memories and pictures.

I must agree that wearing femme clothes is what being a crossdresser is all about. The clothing is the magic passage to a sense of being a real wo0man.

Uh, no. When dressed as a girl, I just feel normal, it's when dressed as a guy that I feel out of place.

That seems to be the definitive difference; the underlying reason why we crossdress. For some, it's a sexual thing, for others, it's not. And for those for whom it's sexual in nature, it usually seems impossible to understand why anyone else would NOT feel the same way.

While I can't say I dress up to look (or see myself) as an attractive and sexy woman (one look deflates that small potential fantasy :eek::heehee:) nor can I say it gives me sexual pleasure. I can say that dressing in women's clothing feels as natural as putting on guy stuff for me. However the process of transformation to me is intoxicating . . . I hold no illusions I look even remotely feminine when I go out but the process is one I enjoy (albeit tongue in cheek when I have a critical make-up fail :devil:).

While I'm not sure that any of us are qualified to make that assertion, I feel that because most GG have been doing it day in and day out, for all their life, and to some degree, expected to do it, they probably take a lot of it for granted. Dressing make me feel very different. While my wife has asked me to describe the feeling, all I can say is 'it make me feel feminine and I like it'.

There an old saying, something to the affect of: 'some people want what they don't have and people that have it don't think about it'....

It did at first. Just putting on a pair of panties was incredibly arousing.

That lasted for about a month and started to fade. But the sense of seduction stayed, it's just not sexual now. I shave my body and wear perfume and put on women's clothes because I want to, because I feel good doing it.

Because it speaks to me sweetly in a language I understand now.

I can't say it turns me on. It just feels normal to dress in women's clothes, sometimes more normal than putting on boy clothes. Even got to the point now more interested in shopping for my girl clothes and shoes. When dressed just feel better about myself and relaxed. Counted up the other day I have about 10 pairs of heels plus just bought today my first pair of stilettos, compared to about 5 pairs of guys shoes including thongs(flip flops)

CDRachael, yeah. Shopping for guy clothes, I couldn't care less. For girly clothes, that's a different story....

Agree. I said to my friends today when I came back that the kick I get out of being dressed in women's clothing is unbelievable, makes me feel like a completely different person to that boring guy I normally am. Dressing for me is a pleasure. I do it to enjoy the clothing. I can wear beautiful colours and a variety of different combinations of the same clothing. I cannot do this in male mode.

Yes I do have different feelings and emotions when dressed and enjoy every second when in Requal mode.

I just love dressing their is so much variety in women's clothes along the way they feel and is nothing like going shopping for a new dress I have not bought men's clothes a long time. And lingerie feels so good on it just feels right to wear women's clothes. Like this morning my girlfriend says to me what are you going to wear today so when for leggings boots and a tunic but if was going to dress in men's clothes it would be shorts and T-shirt not much variety.

It is difficult to compare, because there is an added element to wearing "a different gender's clothing". Women have been wearing panties, skirts, and dresses since they were little girls.

Buying men's clothing can be something that has to be a slow process, depending on what you are buying, such as clothes for work, or for formal occasions. In the case of shopping for women's clothing, I find that every article of clothing has to be well thought out, because I want to look beautiful.

I feel empowered, more confident, more friendly, talkative. Whatever is the opposite me, in drab, that's me dressed. The process is the most exhilarating. Its a feeling that's almost undescribable. I do it and I love it! :daydreaming::battingeyelashes:

I really enjoyed this thread. I think my favorite part of dressing is the entire transformation process. I start with a shower where I shave my body. I follow this up with a lotion. I always enjoy choosing my bra and panties. I never know which will strike my fancy.

Next I do my make up and take what ever time I need to get it to my liking. Next I'll go to my closet and put together an outfit. Next is the jewelry and finally my wig, barrettes and shoes.

Seeing myself transform before my eyes from an ordinary guy to a pretty girl is the most amazing feeling I could ever ask for.

I can remember being clothes conscious back to junior high school (65 now). If I liked how I looked, it was a positive thing. This feeling also extends to crossdressing and shows no signs of wearing off.

For women, I can see it going in two ways.

One is related to the concept of "Familiarity Breeds Contempt". This phrase puts it a bit strongly perhaps, but the intent is that a high degree of familiarity takes a lot of the potential attraction away. Most women usually dress as women most of the time and are staring at the same issues when preparing to leave the house for whatever reason: what to wear, what colors to coordinate, what's appropriate to the occasion, working around whatever body flaws are present, etc. SSDD. It could be seen as fighting the same issues all the time and perhaps it gets a bit stale.

The second situation would be for women who, given their set of circumstances, really don't have much reason to dress beyond sweatpants and t-shirts. Not that they wouldn't like to, but the right situation and purpose just don't occur.

I think in both situations people can lose the connection with the idea dressing to please your self and being able to draw positive feelings from it. Given that crossdressing is a relatively new experience for many of us, I think it would take a while before the New wears off...

Your post was short, but enjoyable. It also is how I approach cross-dressing. I wear panties almost all the time, so I start with picking out one or two for the day. I usually try to find ones that will feel nice to wear, something a bit light so I can really feel the flow of my other clothing. I also try to choose panties that will make me feel sexy, although that can change a lot depending on the mood. Sometimes they are blue or tan things I ordered from JC Penney that have frilly lace along the top of the ... other times, it's a sort of skimpy Hanes, or a cotton FTL, it really simply depends on what my self is saying is sexy today.

Then we move to the bra. Since I don't have forms, I generally go for the bra that is a 38C, and one that has a bit of padding built in, so that the breast curve stands out a bit more than if I use one of the ones that has no padding (although there are times ...) With this in mind, the clothing that I wear for my top has to compliment my breasts. My newest black dress (in my profile pic) does that nicely, as do all of my T Shirts. I usually tuck my shirts into my skirt when I wear them, and the effect is that my breasts are accentuated a bit. It is a very nice womanly look.

I have a couple dresses that are one-piece clothes. I like a couple of them, but other tend to be too billowy or make my stomach look too big, so I kinda avoid using them. Depending on how the wardrobe goes over this summer, I may donate the offenders to Goodwill. However, I also have some skirts that I love to wear. I absolutely adore full-length skirts that go down to just above the ankle. There is just something about watching them as I walk. My issue is finding skirts that are not black.

I have three wigs that I can use in general, although the one I used in my first profile pic really needs to be worked on. It's too wild and all over the place. I make sure to use anti-perspirant, and I put on a touch of "Love" perfume. Currently I am looking into jewelry and other perfumes, and I don't do heels, because if I ever have an accident in them, it becomes a diabetic issue. :)

But I am SO loving to hear how you all prepare yourselves for going out. There are actually some good ideas that I am picking out to help in my own presentation, so thanks much!

But isn't that the whole point of crossdressing? The pleasure and excitement of dressing up and the feelings you have when you're dressed. Isn't that what draws you back again and again? Otherwise, why bother?

I'm quite sure many GGs enjoy dressing up for special occasions. But of course, on a daily basis it's all hum drum and dull. I underdress most of the time now but I also look forward to the times when I can put on my pretty clothes and make up. So for me it's not just the wearing of the clothes, it's the whole process of transforming myself from a rather dull man into the person I should be all the time.

As others have said, that's what it's all about.

We experience a different pleasure to GG's.
There is not really a fair comparison to put on it.

I love the transformation as with some here I start with shower shaving lotion makeup finding the right bra panty set than the boobs wig jewelry and finally a sexy pair of heels with lace top stay ups. All this is a huge turn on that has never diminshed over time. Possibly since I do this only twice a week or so keeps the sensation going.
