Used to be. Then I said What the Heck and never stopped.
No one said a word and it's been over 20 years now.
I epilate and use Nad's all year round, from the neck down, no problems or comments from anyone, the wife even helps with doing my back and anywhere I cannot reach. My skin feels so much better, and cleaner feeling.
I was reserved about shaving for several years and shaved only between my waist and my knees and wore long shorts. I finally just bit the bullet and shave below the waist regularly. I'd shave above the waist but the stubble is unbearable no matter how i approach it. I caught my adult daughter staring at my shaved legs, trying to figure out if she was seeing what she was seeing. Nothing was ever said.
I have also moved from knee length shorts to shorter 4 1/2" - 5 1/2" inseam shorts (like i wore in the '70's) for regular errands. I have several pairs of women's shorts that I work into the rotation. I have no doubt that a few people notice enough to have an opinion, but I no longer bother looking for other's reactions. I present totally as a bearded male with almost waist-length hair and wear light mascara and shadow on a regular basis. For me owning my preference for showing off my shaved legs has become a non-issue. I'm still working on all the other issues.
I am not a seasonal leg shaver because I do not have any hair follicles on my legs; thighs and calves. I do not have any hair follicles at my arm pits. My wife says my lack of hair is wasted on a guy. It wasn't until I was in my 50's that I even gained a hair on my chest; never had hair on my back. It's genetic. My father was hairless. My point is nobody ever made a comment about being hairless. My daughter asked if I shaved my legs about a decade ago. I asked her if it was the first time she noticed: she was sitting across from me when I was wearing shorts. I think people will notice if you go from hirsute to hairless. If you always appeared hairless nobody really notices. I see many aged men who have hairless legs which is probably due to a combination of the aging process and medical conditions, such as diabetes. Fall and winter are also conducive to underdressing more fully than just wearing panties. I can get along with hosiery (pantyhose or thigh highs), panty, bra and camisole under a light sweatshirt.
Funny, I'd almost do it reverse. I shave my legs in the summer but keep the built-in leg warmers in the winter.
I started shaving my legs maybe 2 decades ago without regard for the season.
I shave everything from my forehead down, yes I shave off my eyebrows, done it for years so people are used to seeing me that way, I shave all over at least once a week, if you dont, it takes forever to get every hair off your body, so keep on top of it. Just use a gillette mach 5, found it leaves you as smooth as a baby, love it those stockings just glide on.
I no longer need to shave my legs. I have a hormone imbalance that has eliminated most of my body hair. Before that I used to shave my legs winter and summer. I usually wear sheer pantyhose with shorts in both male and female mode, and I’ve done so for a long time. When you are wearing pantyhose with your shorts, lack of leg hair is not the central issue. :)
Hi Allison :hugs:, I have had clean smooth legs 24/7/365 , for 30 years, >Orchid**O:daydreaming:O**
I was a seasonal shaver, shaving my legs during the winter. Then I determined to go completely hairless from the neck down and have not looked back. I enjoy the feeling, especially when I wear nice soft fabrics.
I'm fortunate to not be very hairy. My wife has commentated a few times on my smooth legs. Only for me to reveal that I have not shaved in months. I did enjoy shaving them a few weeks back though.
I reached the point where I just can't take body hair any more. I did laser. There's no going back.
I started shaving my legs 24/7 a few months ago and never want to go back. My wife is fine with it since I didn't have much leg hair to begin with and our cuddling time together feels amazing. I was initially worried what people would think a the Y but go figure I've never seen anyone take a second look. It rarely crosses my mind anymore. So winter shaving? You bet!...and spring, fall, summer - round again and again. Oh and btw I don't feel the need to wear hosiery as much anymore unless it's to complete an outfit. A dress feels amazing against smooth legs.
The first time I shaved my legs was at the start of shorts season. I wasn't thinking about it until I went to put on a pair of shorts. Then all of a sudden I realized... Holy canolie what did I just do. I put my shorts on and went about my day. I was super self conscious. Well no one said anything. My legs have been smooth ever since.
I let my legs go a little bit longer between shaving in the winter.
Shave year round - not much hair growing on my legs or arms any more
I work construction in Florida, shorts are worn about 360 days a year. Shaved my legs as a joke, loved it, my wife loved it, kept at it for about a year. Then epilated for several years. Now I've progressed to a full body wax about every 5 weeks. There's less and less hair everywhere, and it's amazing.
And over the over 10 years I've been doing this I've had exactly 4 people ask if I shaved my legs. 2 didn't care, the other 2 pretended to care because it's what men are supposed to do, but they really don't.
The trick, IMO, is in the answer. Do you shave your legs? "yes." with nothing further. Or "Hell no, shaving is for women, I have my hair painfully ripped out like a man." Either works.
PS I was a gorilla, the sudden change should have been obvious, but it wasn't.
My wife only lets me shave in the winter, she doesn't want others to know about my CDing. I have my physical in late October every year and the first thing I do when I get back is shave my legs. If I could do it all year, I'd love it.
Started shaving my legs and arms 15 years ago when i worked a warehouse job that didnt have air conditioning in the summer, noone noticed when wearing shorts
Had electrolysis on my beard and shave from the neck down. Wife makes comments if I start feeling ?prickly? as she puts it and says I need to make sure I stay smooth
I rarely bare my legs in the summer, but there are those rare occasions where I use the pool if staying at a hotel with the wife, so I let it go for that sake. Now that it's getting cooler and not hotels in the forecast, I started cleaning them off. The big step will be cleaning off the face for a couple months.
While my dressing has come and gone for various reasons, shaving which I began a few years ago is a constant. It seems so much better from an appearance and hygiene standpoint. Year round for me.
I never heard of winter shaving. Once I started shaving everything I never looked back. That was like 8 years ago.
Yep as soon as it gets cold and pants go on the legs are smooth. My wife doesn't like it in the summer because "guys legs aren't supposed to be shaved" I love the feeling and hate body hair. She knows it but I give her the summer.
Yes, I have a calculated hairless journey.
I remove hair after winter ski season is over (March). I have best friends (whom I have known for ever) and I know they would notice and ask. It is not that I am concerned of their acceptance, but it is just a conversational that is not needed with these great friends of mine. These same friends I usually see in July for a summer hang at beach or lake. So with that, I get a full legs/bikini/brazalian wax in early March. Then I let it grow until late July, and do the same wax in August. This gives me a few warmer months to wear a skort or dress without leggings/stockings if I wish. I then usually do one more wax in October (just did it last week), which will last until late November or so. Then I am usual hairy for winter months and ski season. Then repeat.
I do like the clean feeling of hairless lower half. It keeps me cooler in summer time. And when I go to the lake with my wife in August afterwards, it makes being in the water so awesome (much colder).
My wife makes me shave all year round, she doesn?t like body hair on a man or woman.
Looks like I will just have to go along with her request.
It sucks lol
Instead of a full shave, I've been cutting my arms and legs hair with an electric hair cutter at the minimum length, that is about 3-5 mm. That is enough to get a more feminine view of my arms and to avoid my SO to complain about shaved legs (but they look great when using pantyhoses).
But... some months ago, I shaved my whole chest and tummy for the first time, and also my legs (I was at an hotel during a short trip and I could go to the pool in girl mode with a nice swimsuit that could hold my forms). I used to shave just the cleavage, but now I'm going full on it and I don't want to return. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep the shaved legs to keep things calm with my SO.
I shave year round. Hairless neck down. My wife thought it strange but did not object. I love the feeling and have never liked body hair. I always used my Mach 5, but since I found the Venus, I now know what a smooth shave is. I had laser on my back a few years ago, but that gets pricey.
Im in the shaved smooth year round club also. I have been smooth nose to toes for over 6 years now and plan on staying that way!
Interesting how this winter shaving is the seasonal opposite of when some of the GGs shave. Several that I know well will take the winter off from shaving, preferring to wear pants every day in the cold months. They rarely wear hosiery. Some summers, their shaving season is still long. This year, they got away with shaving quite rarely. We had three frosty days in June and the frost returned in August in out Pacific Northwest mountains.
As for me, I shave year round. I tolerate heat and cold well. I have a respectable collection of tights and hosiery to accommodate nearly every temperature. On the few coldest days of winter, I wear fleece lined leggings that look pretty convincingly like sheer hosiery.
Shaving in summer makes applying sunscreen SO MUCH easier that it's hard to underestimate. I have hated it until discovering shaving.
Nobody cared or asked (or maybe even noticed).
I’ve been shaving from the waist down for years, all year-round. At first I was a bit timid about showing my smooth legs out in public (in drab mode) but I’ve yet to have anyone comment about it. Before I began shaving I was VERY hairy and I got fed up with it and made the change. Periodically I’ll shave my chest and arms when the hair gets annoying.

I swear by the Venus 5! Gives an amazingly smooth shave...
I've been shaving almost all of my body - except for my legs! - since long before dressing was a "regular" thing for me. Just love the feeling of smoothness!
Now I'm IPL'ing my thigh/upper-leg and, when required, shaving from the knee down. This is because contrary to the experience of others who've commented I've found (at least for me) it's the most noticeable thing (and they're not even all that hairy when unshaved!).
Since my youngest son asked if I'd shaved my legs I decided I wouldn't make it a regular thing.
But yes, now it's getting colder and I've more reason to be covered up then I think it'll be more regular.
Living in FL there really is no such thing as "winter". I shave legs, chest, etc year round.
The time to shave your legs is in the summer, not the winter. You want to have smooth pretty legs in the summer when everyone can seem them in skirts or shorts.
I too would shave during the winter months. But THIS summer I kept shaving all season long and it was so wonderful. Wore shorts and the only person to notice was of course my mother. She said I don't have very hairy legs. Thanks Mom.
Always hated to shave. Had laser and love it.
