A week and I tried 3 weeks once. Did not work out at 3 weeks at all
Jeez, depends on the circumstances, Deb. I went almost 18 months after my ex decided she could no longer deal with my thing. It?s different now, of course. I am out in my community, so really I present as I choose most of the time, and most of the time that is as a woman.
I have gone several months at a time. I am ok with it at the time.
But when I get back to dressing I then realize how much I miss it.
I think it is going to be a very long time before I CD again, maybe never. Only time will tell. I think I will be ok though.

I went at least 6 weeks when I traveled to Arizona and then Europe immediately afterwards.
Didn't mean I didn't miss it.

Way back when Danielle was a total secret dress up days could be up to a year apart but I coped. After telling my wife about my crossdressing , then retiring , and then the kids moving out Danielle days became more and more frequent. Now with my wife being very accepting and supportive I have a Danielle day about every 2 weeks. Sometimes there are opportunities where I can have multiple Danielle days within a 1 or 2 week period.
This frequency works with me because I am perfectly content in my male life 99% of the time and Danielle is a temporary fantasy escape. For someone who feels their crossdressing is an expression of their true self my situation probably wouldn’t suffice.
Having said that, because of family commitments and a little thing called a cyclone my Danielle day on Monday was about 2 months since the last one . The two month absence did make my Danielle extra enjoyable.
Before and after the coming out, I used to do a full nines session twice a year, so 6 months give or take. But more recently my wife offered me to do MIAD sessions in between, so it's down to a few months now.
Because of moving and job changes, I have gone for over a year without so much as putting on a pair of panties. But the desire always comes back. And while it is not as pressing as it once was, I look forward to those times when I have the opportunity.
If you mean fully stepping into the role and out into the outside world - it's been about a year and a half. Before that - about 20.
If you mean doing something less than fully stepping to the other side - I've always got something going on under my outer disguise.
Not much, usually just panties, but hey - it's something - and I need it to maintain my emotional balance.
Debs, I underdress everyday and wear nightgowns at night, but as to fully dressing it can be months due to my living situation.

When I read the title of this thread dressing was not my first thought.
Not taking circumstances we can't influence (like when I was 2 days on business trip), then 1 day without dressing top. And I get full make-up at least 1 day every weekend.
At one point in my life, I went for about ten years without any crossdressing or desire to. Turns out, I can only do that when everything else in my life is going well. So now, I just crossdress whenever I want to, since I live alone again.
I can go indefinitely if I have to. I don't want to. I have gone two years before. Now my life is in a state where I have opportunity to sleep crossdressed every night. Out of bed, not so much, but I try.
An inverse way of thinking about this that I've been testing on myself; how long can you go and keep crossdressing? Many years ago, I decided to wear pantyhose every moment of every day for a month. Outside of showers, and changing pantyhose, I made it like 27 days and finally reached my limit. Seemed silly to stop perhaps, but I'd told myself when I felt I'd reached the limit, I'd stop whether I made it to a month or not. This past February+ I went over 30 days wearing pantyhose 100% of the time except for showers. Never felt like stopping. The only reason I did was it started to get warmer, and wearing pantyhose under pants at work began to be uncomfortably warm. I'm on another run though; since before the beginning of the year, I've been crossdressing every night. This is normally a nightgown (or two; I like the feel of nylon nightgowns against each other), bra, forms, and pantyhose. I haven't missed a night. Each night, I sort of ask myself if I want to stop. I haven't wanted to stop, so I keep going. I suspect I could go indefinitely. I'm going to keep doing this until I don't want to, or circumstances arise that I can't for some reason. It's been internally illuminating.
Hours. Sometimes several hours.
I can dress everyday for a month or once or twice in four months. For me it is more about dressing when I feel comfortable to do so.
Well the UK school holidays are about to start so since I'm still mostly closeted then I'm about to hit a 3 week drab spell!
It's been a very long drought around here; ever since my wife fully retired. It use to have a full day of domestic chores to do. I found go out for an evening stroll or drive, while letting me scratch an itch, was never fulfilling. My wife use to go out of state to visit our daughter or her cousin which gave me seven to ten days of 24/7 activities. There was a time when I did the entire makeup/transformation routine, full makeup and fake nails or nail polish. I found it time consuming and ended up only applying lip color so my coffee cup would have the outline of my lips and the scent would rise up my nose. My wife an I sleep apart due to medical/back issues, so I do get to sleep in a nylon nightgown every night with a bra and panty set and perhaps a full slip.
I can go several weeks without dressing up. No big deal as I don't really go out or anything, I just do it mostly at home.
For years I was able to fully dress every 2 weeks or so but since retiring i have had to make some changes I can handle a month or so without dressing Jill.
Panties every day and bras most days, keeps the pink fog at bay. My chances to fully dress are very limited, once or twice a year. If I could not at least undress, the pressure would build I?m sure.
I did go once for about two years to stop cding, but I never stopped thinking about it or looking at garments. Luckily, I only packed away my stuff and did not purge.
Before retiring, not very long. Now, like Jamie, I underdress daily, sometimes more. It?s pretty much standard procedure. And yes, I thoroughly enjoy it.
My opportunities to go out are limited, usually to a full week every year. Occasionally other odd days become available but they are few and far between. Would I like more, yes of course but like so many here we have to live withing the confines of our family relationships.
That said I do get amble time to dress PF, Partially Femme most days. Underwear, hose, skirt and top, forms in as well. Being in a DADT relationship I have to keep the femme me hidden. You'll often find me with a fleece top and jogging bottoms covering up my femme things sans forms. Keeping them on would be strange to say the least. I won't go into details but with the way our daily schedules pan out, I typically get 4-7 hours a day were I'm PF and as I've said many times, I regularly count my blessings. Reading here of those who go for months and years without the chance to dress confirms to me just how fortunate I am.
And as for how long can I go without dressing before it starts to get to me. Well, weeks. Life will throw circumstances at you that mean dressing just isn't possible but also that time is that which means you're being kept occupied doing other things, like an extended holiday. I'll continue to people watch, looking at what GG's are wearing. Looking for outfit ideas, style hints. And of course, absence makes the heart grow fonder so once the period ends it's nice to return to your other wardrobe.
Sorry your opportunities are so limited. I need to go out fully dressed regularly. I always feel better!
It depends on what else is going on (competing for attention). Right now, I get out about twice a week to do our grocery shopping, in another part of town. Occasionally, I'll stop for lunch at a fast food place. Would I like to get out more? Of course! But I have other responsibilities that require me to be in my guy disguise since my wife doesn't want anyone that we know to know about this side of me. So I'm grateful that she accepts my biweekly excursions.
The longest I've ever gone without dressing at all was about a year to 2 years. That was decades ago. For most of my life I've seldom gone more than a month. More recently I've been out in the world in some way dressed more than once a month and am dressed much of the time at home.
I'm in my 9th year of CD sobriety. Of course, I never stop fully thinking about it, so I visit here to placate what many refer to the pink fog. I had a long run of never getting "caught" and decided it better to walk away from the table while ahead. When I read about so many of you discussing the supportive wife that embraces it, I sometimes wonder if it's a bunch of lies because I cannot relate to having that kind of spouse. But that doubt passes soon, I just wish I had the same experience as so many of you.
Since retiring a couple years ago I have a much lesser need or desire to fully dress. Not sure if it's lack of opportunity, my busy schedule or less stress in my life. In my later working years I absolutely needed to dress at least once a week. My longest drought was 12 years. Unfortunately it lasted from my later high school years until several years after my wife and I got married. I had pretty much written it off as a puberty-phase-thing I had outgrown (pre-internet days). Unfortunately, it has caused a lot of mental anguish ever since it came back.
I go for a week or more occasionally with out the need to dress, but not very often. If I'm traveling with my wife (she knows, but isn't into it), I will generally put off full dressing until I get back, but if the trip is more than a week, I find myself looking longingly at dresses and such, and will occasionally buy one as my wife and I are out shopping. She'll comment on my tastes, no apparent negative judgement, but I still don't dress in front of her. Oddly, when I'm in between CD times, I may be surprised that I have no urge at all, but then an hour later, I can't wait for the transformation-- this happens frequently.
Even 18 hours is stretching it for me because I have constant urges, I love my lingerie so much and can't wait to slip into it for bedtime every night. Since I started dressing in my teens it's rarely been more than 2-3 days without dressing.
10 years is the longest spell. Varies from once ir twice a week to every few months. Depending upon opportunities and whether or not I have the urge.
6 months is the longest I?ve gone without dressing up. I?ve purged my clothes once when I moved to a new home, and regretted it immediately. It?s amazing how quickly I can stock up on dresses, petticoats, and pantyhose when the urge is so strong! The thrill is still there when I hit BUY or SUBMIT ORDER on a pretty piece of clothing. Once the clothes are in my possession, my urge to dress is almost impossible to fight. When the wife is home, I sneak dressing up sessions in the middle of the night when she?s asleep. The amount of times I?ve almost been caught by my wife is too many, and definitely will be posted in other threads!
I have mornings from 4 to 9 and a nice private space.
Routine eye appointment this morning so I'm skipping a day.
I went almost a year. I'm back in now dressing less. Giving my wife more husband time. I can tell you never purge
Due to living circumstances I don't have the opportunity to dress up, it's been years since I've fully dressed, but, it's never far from my mind. I used to have a job which meant staying away during the week, so would dress up a lot of evenings in my hotel room, but, I changed jobs as got tired of the constant travel and being away from home, I knew it would probably mean dressing up opportunities would be limited and it was a factor I considered when deciding to change jobs. While I do miss dressing up, my life otherwise is much better, hopefully I'll be able to get back dressing again in the future and do plan on getting a full makeover in the next year, just need to build up the courage to go through with it.
Three Weeks....Nope. Couldn't do that. Now make up has always made my face feel hot and I usually try not to do much of that. But I don't even have enough male clothing to go close to that long...lol. I am what I am. Loving it too!
