Usually the doc will order a blood draw before the appointment to get baseline levels on your testosterone and estrogen as well as liver function. He or she might ask what you hope to achieve and will let you know what will typically happen when taking hormone therapy.
It's depend on what's the referral says. I assuming your PCP refers you after a period of counseling about crossdressing or trans life. I don't wish country you live so more info on all that would be helpful.
I did not need any counseling as I went by the informed consent model.
Been reading numerous articles on the process here in Spain. One girl talks about needing a bone density test. Not read about this before?
