It's more then the dressing

I brought my wife for her specialist appointment and I drop her off and drive around for a few hours. After the appointment my wife asked me if I could drive her around to take care of a few things, ,I excepted of coarse as long as I was dressed.
As I was driving my wife made a comment that a dress and wig doesn't make me a women and that I should try to act like a women. She said I drive like a man, a man puts his heel of his foot down and pivets the foot from the accelerator, but as I noticed all my male shoes are worn out at the heel. But a women actually lifts her foot from the break to the accelerator so she doesn't ruin the back of her shoes. She then pointed out that my left foot heel was scrapping the carpet and to lift my foot so I put all the weight on the heel of the shoe. It wasn't easy and she had to keep reminding me about it but because I kept going back, but I must admit when I was doing it, it did felt more feminine and it made my legs look skinnier because I was lifting them. She then told me to stop slouching and pull my shoulders back and pull out my chest showing off the breast forms.
It was a bit harder driving like that but I guess she had a point, I could wear the dress and wig but presenting is very important as well. Lesson well learned

Now I have something new to pay attention to?

I already have enough trouble staying between the lines...

Cute story. Loved it, and thank your lovely wife for driving en femme with you.

But you bring up a very good point, and that is our unconscious male socialization habits. Un-learning things are nearly impossible. Very difficult.
I'm sure there's other things you do "without thinking about it" that might be give-aways or tells with regards to your true gender. Of course, there's the physical matters of passing. I'm thinking of stuff like opening a door for a woman. Certainly in your "male life" you were raised to do such things as a polite gentleman.
I only say this because the last time I was out in public en femme I unconsciously opened a door for another lady. Force of habit, but it made me think about where my natural gender persona lies.

Maria, I absolutely agree with your wife on driving in heels, I find it almost natural to lift my whole foot. Although I still sometimes rest on the back of the heel... :doh:

That is so great of your SO to offer tips like that. Isn't it always the little things that give the spy away inthe movies?

Presenting properly is sometimes as important as what you wear. How often have we discussed the need to get those mannerisms off pat.

On the issue of driving I also think GG's and males hold the wheel differently. If overtaking a car on the motorway before you see the driver, where the hands are can be a real indicator of the gender of the driver. GG's by virtue of generally having shorter limbs sit closer to the controls. Straight arms Vs bent elbows.

You can look 100% female. Walk like John Wayne everyone will know.

It's so nice to have a driving/woman advisor sitting next to you in the car for those valuable tips. As said, thank your wife for being there in the car with you dressed and giving such fine tips. I especially like the no-slouching rule as it pertains to me while I try to hide my height and insecurities.

As I let myself go deeper into the experience I am seeking by wearing the dress I find that many things about how my body feels within itself changes- whole sets of muscles relax, and the way I move, the things I am aware of and sensitive to about my environment shifts. As men we are trained to simplify and objectify what we see around us, including the people, as a way to make it easier to be very functional and practical and decisive. And our inner self seeks reunion with the other capacities we see mirrored in women's training, so we are drawn inexorably to want to dress- since that is the most obvious and practical doorway to it- but we discover soon it is more than the dress!

Your wife knows this too, and is very kind to share it with you- and perhaps hopes you will one day grip the wheel like a woman, motivated from the natural instincts you are feeling- after she helps you see and feel these differences, and let your guard down more.

I'm glad she's willing to coach you not only in appearance but mannerisms.
