OOh I got Ma'm ed, so pumped.

    OMG!! I was so excited!!!

After work, and after I got home my SO suggested I go out to the drugstore to get something for my cold . . .yeppers, I kinda stuffed up so, I decided to get dressed to for the short errand. . . All I needed to do was add some makeup and fem clothes after all

I went to work underdressed as normal(have been doing that since new years ). so, I decided to change into a nice black elbow tee, beige button down blouse, my hiphugger long flare jeans, and mary jane flats. See, 2 weeks ago, I got a nice perm . . . ooh so femme it felt so girly to be pampered at the salon and I bought some femme prescription glasses too amongst other thins for my overall look. . .

so I had that going for me . . I pulled my newly permed hair back into a pony tail and decided to add a face to myself. . .

BTW -- here is a little shameless plug. . . Colortration is a miracle!! a tiny bit goes a long way and its true, it looks better the longer its on!! I wanted to try it so I ordered the sample pack and it works great for me . . . I just love the stuff, it covers the beard shadow wonderfully and looks natural and not heavy!!

With some blush, light eyeshadow and about 3 shades darker of nude lipstick . . .A shade I just love (L'Oreal #857 - Sunwash. . . I think it looks great on me ) and a little lip gloss. Again simple but I like it. I grabbed my purse and was out the door Wife gave me a raised eyebrow as I left. . . I guess I musta looked good or something.

I get to the drugstore . . .its not too far away. I felt so great being out . . .congestion and all. . . So I find my meds and scan the makeup Isle. . .had to do that of course!

So I needed to leave, after the SA rang me out. . . she handed me my bag of purchases and said.

    "Have a good day, Ma'm!!"

OH I was sooooo excited!! Sure it was small but in some way . . I passed or blended. . . whatever the case, I was stoked.

What a boost of confidence through something so small.

I couldn't just go home so, I stepped into a small shop in the same strip mall. . . lots of girly stuff: purses, rings, bangles, jewelry. . .and other cute accessories and the like. . . really cute stuff. So, I had to pick up something there too So I bought a few rings, and some bangles. . . just small stuff as I really was just browsing to pad more time out Upon checkout, he SA there complimented me on the bangle I chose so that was neat too.

Just thought I'd chime in with a simple adventure that was a wonderful boost of confidence. Yes, I know it was nothing really grand but it was something fun.

    sorry no pics

Sounds like you had a great time, Jacie! Congratulations!

I had a very mixed day today. "He" got to the clothes first and decked "himself" out in a guy's polo shirt (even though he stole my slinky jeans ) thinking "he" was going to a guy lunch.

Only at the last minute, one of my GG friends called and she was really in a crisis, so "his" lunch got cancelled but with no time to change.

Bottom line -- one of those rare occassions when I got called "Sir."
    Boo! Hiss!

I hope one day I can have the same happen to me, without the cold, I just have to keep in mind one step at a time.

    it'll come

It will happen . . . just take it slow and have confidence. . . such a big key and an even larger hurdle to overcome. It takes longer for some people than others and sadly some may never have the confidence or courage to ever step out thier front door.

Small steps are key. . .and believe me, I still get nervous at times. I often wonder what friend or family member am I going to run into when I round the next corner. . . but I just go for it. Soon, I am sure I will have to face this fear in reality . . . but I'll have to find the courage to overcome that hurdle when it finds me. Also, I am quite sure I am "read" a fair amount of times as well. But, I guess I must be getting at least a little better in my presentation but I feel I still have a long way to go.

Thanks for all the sweet compliments . . .

It was a first for you, and I'm so glad for you. I usually am referred to as "Ma'm" so often that it is jarring to be called "Sir." But, you know what? I never get tired of that wonderful sound of "Ma'm"! I suspect that you will continue to feel the same way too.

My day wasn't horrible, I just felt terribly uncomfortable running around in "his" clothes and being called "Sir," but I really had to be there, regardless of my clothing, to help my friend. She's having a tough time right now.

    Hugs,

It is great to be accepted whether they know it or not. I got a kind reception and departure on Monday when I went into the casino near by from the security guard at the door. It does make one happy and excited. Have fun with the experiance. Keli

Getting "ma'am ed" rocks. I'm happy for you. I got "ma'am ed" a few weeks ago, and it made my day. Good for you!

I know the feeling, happened to me while shopping with my niece. The SA said, "Have a nice day ladies." I wanted to give her a big kiss, but my niece dragged me away. What a confidence builder.

I had my first "Ma'am" moment when I was twelve (back in '82). I was just passing 6' tall at the time and like many boys my age had a hairstyle similar to Purdey (Joanna Lumley) from the New Avengers, ie a bit 'page boy', and was dressed usually in T-shirt/Jeans/trainers and a leather box jacket, just like a lot of girls did too. At the cinema I tried to get into a film (can't remember which now) that had what I thought was an 'AA' certificate, which at the time meant 14 years and over. I knew I could pass for 14 no problem, but when I got there it had an 'X' certificate (18 and over). I tried my luck anyway as it was a long walk and a long bus ride to the cinema back then, and the middle aged lady in the box office gave me a ticket without a second glance, but I realised why when she said 'Here you are Miss' as she gave me my ticket! She must have thought I looked like an 18 year old girl rather than a 12 year old boy, and I simply smiled and said thank you in my as yet unbroken voice. Later on inside the theatre a Woman sat a few seats along from me told her young daughter to 'Ask that young lady nicely if she would let you past' pointing to me! Again I revelled silently in the moment and savoured it for years to come. I also let me hair grow much longer afterwards, indeed it still is halfway down my back and I intend keeping it that way. It was only a small and almost insignificant incident back then, but it meant a lot to me and still does. I wasn't even trying!

Wow, thanks for all the kind compliments and supprot I really do appreciate it a bunch.

    JoAnne,

Colortration is one of many brands of liquid cover-up makeup . . . others have listed it in the "best beard cover up tips" section so I thought I'd give it a try after regular foundation just didn't cut through the beard shadow -- This cover up works so nicely for me . . . I just had to give another plug for it

here is a link for anyone interested!!
