I'm finding out what women have to put up with, with rude men

I went out last night dressed up again at the gay/transgender pub I go too. I've never had a problem ever until last night. Last night, I wore something totally different than other times. I wore a long red skirt, black lace top, and gold shoes. I was sitting with 2 of my CD friends, and there was a young guy nearby sitting by himself. My CD friends went out for a smoke for about 10 minutes, so I sat by myself. The young guy who was quite handsome came over and sat with me. He asked my name, I said "Angela" which is the name I now use. He said, he was Rob. We had breif chat for about a minute, then he asked me for a dance. I said I could'nt dance, cause I was minding a handbag for someone. He then said would I like sex. I quickly replied "Do you always ask women that within 2 minutes", he said "No, never". I said "Then why me", and he said "Cause you are not a woman, you are just a man dressed up". When he first aproached me, he said I was pretty and my skirt was nice, then he had to say that to me. I was totally turned off, so I purposely ignored him from that moment. My last words were "When I'm dressed up, I'm a lady, whats the difference...", then he went quiet and left. I suppose I should get used to this. Hell, some men are persistant and rude.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]I love my gorgous flowing evening and ball gowns. I love swishing in them, and feeling how beautiful and shimmering they are. I love to feel like a princess. I love to be elegant, feminine and ladylike.

Men are buttheads, this is a well known fact. Not all of them, but if not the majority, then a goodly proportion. Next time get him to buy you a drink first then at least the encounter will have been worthwhile. Oh, just kidding about the drink thing, you know me. If you let them buy you a drink then they think you owe them something, it's how their minds work.

Just have fun when you're out and about. Dealing with rude boys is something girls learn from kindergarten on. It's something we have to figure out for ourselves as tgirls.

    Hugs...Joni Mari

"Because equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who's confronted with it."

--Joss Whedon, to a reporter who asked, "So why do you create these strong women characters?"

Men think with their penis', especially in bars. Sounds like you handled a rude guy just like a sophisticated lady would.

When you hang around in bars/clubs, all you meet are people who hang around in bars/clubs.

Good for you. It sounds like he thought you were there for the same reason he was (easy sex), but you quickly deflated his ego and showed him you are truely a lady, and that not all ladies are there just to hop into bed with him. Maybe next time he will think a little and treat the girls he meets better. Keep up the good fight......Stephanie

    i agree with Joni

Most men are Buttheads - I often laugh and tell my wife that if I were actually a girl I'd probably be a Lesbian.......I'm somewhat of a loner because I can't stand the crude & rude demeanor of most men. I would imagine they could make an otherwise quiet evening out quite frightening.

Most? Sadly, that's why womankind thinks the way it does...

Let's just say the bad ones are more noticeable.

"Many of the "girls"now are married!i use to go to private

I like the best!Really I,like all of you! When it comes to body

clean, safisticated, classy and attractive as you!I try to show
you that I like what I see.By pleasing you where it counts!!
I really enjoy being with a tall sexy woman like you!"

    My response:

"Hey I am cool with male admires and I have a few however I let all of them know I am a person like the others and for me as far as I will go is maybe holding hands and maybe a kiss on the hand and thats about as far as I go."

He did not like the answer, So I too will say that some men are little boys

    To be fair

some men are Jerks ............... but most are okay ............. and some women are bitches ........... but most are okay ....... .. it's life ..........
I allow myself to set healthy boundaries ..... to say no to what does not align with my values, to say yes to what does.
Boundaries assist me to remain healthy, honest and living a life that is true to me

Most single GGs say that all the good men are taken.I believe this. The bars are crawling with losers who give the majority of decent men a bad name. You handled yourself like a lady. Well done.

Exactly, it's a combo of testosterone & alcohol that fuels that kind of behavior

I have experienced this in other places as well. Some gay men run at 200mph around this subject and I think they feel we do too.

    Angela, NOT defending his rudeness, but;

Most adults, male AND female, probably r CLUELESS about WHY CDs dress up!

Then, there's the fact that you were in a club, and that mostly folks go to clubs/bars to hook-up, well, u know-------!!

So, his comment was rude, but his THINKING may have been ALL TOO TYPICAL!

    ( I LOVE my closet!)
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!
