I was station on board a fast frigate or distroyer escort ship and had the
opportunity to cross the equator on three different occasions.I was always
considered too wierd and aloff so I never perticipated in any initiations. But
being in communications, there was a certain aux radio room that I could
lock from the inside and have private time all alone.I would go there and
slip on my pantyhose and playtex free spirit girdle and have a wonderful
time.some of my fondest and earliest crossdressing memories came in that
room.even though bras, makeup, poise pads, nail polish, breastforms, wigs,
and purses would come much later, those early shipbord memories are
    priceless........go navy.dana.

Another time when I was almost/possibly outed was when I was enlisted and living in the barracks; my unit decided to have a health and welfare inspection. As most military members know, these inspections most often come with no notice so that the soldiers have no time to get rid of any contraband. With my case, I couldn’t get rid of or hide my small duffle bag that had the stash of women’s clothes in it.

I was nervously standing outside my room when the two NCO’s finally came to my room to inspect. After looking at the other roommates stuff, they came to my wall locker. After sifting through my stuff, they came upon my duffle bag - it had a lock on it - and they asked me to open it. I tried to convince them that it was just clothes but they still wanted to search it.

It was then I broke down into tears and was trembling at the thought of getting “outed”. I asked if I could have just one NCO inspect the bag and they agreed. Mind you, this guy that was about to look into that bag was a big muscular black guy that looked like Debo from the movie Friday; very intimidating man. As he was rummaging through the bag, with the look of bewilderment he gazed up at me and asked, “What are you?” With extreme fear, the only answer I could muster was, “I’m straight…”

After he was finished with inspecting the rest of my stuff, I asked him if this situation would remain confidential. Although he assured me of this, it was years later, after I pinned on my Warrant Officer rank, that I caught up with an old enlisted friend and after doing a little reminiscing, found out that the NCO had told a few of his buddies of what he found in my room before he retired. Apparently, rumor went around about me that I had “all these sex toys and stuff” but I never heard or was just oblivious to the rumor. Looking back, it was an enormous scare for me but with and anti-climatic ending…which was a good thing might I add…

22 years USAF (including Minot and Lowry)

One time, after I was commisioned, my unit, (hospital) was participating in some kind of odd Halloween thing at the the "O" Club. We decided to do a "float", of sorts, depicting "M*A*S*H". At lunch one day, my CO sat down at my table and asked me to play Klinger. I asked why me, and he said I was the only one on his staff with the ego strength to pull it off. (Seriously, I don't think he had a clue about my "hobby")

At the time, I was dating a delightful British GG, who also didn't have a clue about me. She agreed to help me out with buying clothes and getting me dressed. I decided this was too good an opportunity to get some new clothes rather than using anything I already had. Although completely unnecessary, I bought some new lingerie to "complete" the look. She was not very familiar with the TV show, so she didn't know how unnecessary it was.

The worst part of the evening was chewing on the required Klinger cigar. The rest was fun. Until we got back to my room in the "Q". Then it turned spectacular. That was the first time I ever had sex while dressed enfem.

It was only a one time thing, (enfem), because, I didn't want to press my luck. She was a sweetheart, and I didn't want to risk losing her in case she got freaked by knowing the CDing was more than a one time thing.

A great big THANK YOU to all of who have served, or are now serving our Country!

I served 4 years in the U.S.Navy, during and right after the Korean war. Most of my duty was Aircraft Carriers as a Radar Operator. The only time I did not have a feminine garment to wear was the time in Boot Camp in San Diego. From then on I always had some panties to wear, even when aboard ship. I had fixed an opening in the lining of my Pea Coat ( A heavy all weather coat) that no one could find and kept my panties in there. And Kathy, I never got ashore in Korea, but did get many nice things in Japan!

BTW, I did get to escort Grace Kelly when she was filming a movie aboard the carrier I was on. Major highlight of my Navy career, and yes I was wearing pink nylon panties at the time!

Oh my! I had the same exact thing happen to me, except my search was due to a roommate who was actually OSI. I never knew what they thought I did, as the charges were dropped, but the feeling of being called off the flightline, being sent to the dorms and having to open my wall locker was very "sac-tightening" shall we say. When they got to my stash of girl stuff, I just said, "Oh, those are Kathi's." I assume that they assumed Kathi was my girlfriend. I guess that a girl in my dorm room was a much less charge than what they thought they had me on, so nothing came of it - except my very first purge.

It seems that I have never had a good experiences while in the military. The last time I shopped En Femme was in 1967 and was arrested by the cops. I was never convicted because the SA who hated crossdressers somehow read me, but she asked me if I wanted to try on what I was shopping. When I came out of the dressing room a cop was there waiting. I was taken before the justice of the peace and taken to jail to be mug shot and finger printed and a court date set. I pled not guilty to the vagrancy charge because I had been invited to try on the clothes. An investigation took place and then the charges were dropped when it was shown that the SA was the one who set me up. Back in those days the cops could arrest you for just being En Femme. Glad the Supreme Court struck down vagrancy laws so you can't be arrested for doing something that is legal just something a cop doesn't like for you to be doing. Forever since I have lost my taste for shopping dressed En Femme.
Now for the military part of this story. My CO was the superior to the arresting officer. The arrest went across his desk. When weekend drills started up in the fall I was pulled out of first formation and sent to Batallion Headquarters. The Chief Med Officer wanted to see me. It was he who told me I was medically unfit to serve and was going to be separated from the NG. Atleast they were nice enough to give me an honorable discharge for medical reasons. I had done some special things for the Batallion CO and he wanted to talk to me about the "problem". I must have changed things with that conversation because my CO wanted a dishonorable discharge and Batallion had it changed to an honorable.

This put me in the odd position of everyone knowing, and still not being able to talk about it or acknowledge it in any way. Not fun.

So - what I had was a lockable duffel bag stuck up into a locked wall locker in my room (back in the day when I lived in the baracks). I would arrange to have a roommate who worked a different shift - gone for eight or even twelve hours. Never really had any trouble, and was able to dress frequently (at least three or four times a week) for years. Got married, moved off base, and on it went from there.

Not as good as Kathi's story (and I did a year at Kunsan too) but there you have it. Kunsan was the place I literally worked 330 of the 335 days I was there, didn't even really get off base at all
Damn that sucks. I'm about to apply for my clearance for an intel job I want, I've never been open about CD'ing except online and this woman I talk to over Instant Messenger. Aside from this, I have a clean record. I hope this won't disqualify me.

But anyways, I'm USAF. 3 Senior NCO's from another squadron did a random room inspection on me one time with military dogs in my living quarters looking for drugs, contraband and whatnot. I had to stand outside my room but I could look in at any time. I kept all my lingerie and heels and whatnot in a black duffle bag. They did open it and rummage through a bit, but I don't think it really aroused suspicion. By a stroke of sheer luck, I had gotten rid of all my anal beads and other toys by accident a week prior. All they confiscated was a bottle of Nair and some Anal lube that was leaking (ewwww). Definitely the most intense moment of my life there.

I am in the Army, serving in Iraq actually. I dont have a whole lot of stories involving getting outed or anything of the such. I have had a few health and welfares come up, but being an NCO I get wind before hand and usually dont get looked at. Out here now I am on a little tiny post with absolutely no privacy, so I am having to leave the CDing behind until I get home. I see there are alot of dressers on here that are military, and that makes me feel a lot better knowing I am not alone. See you on the front lines ladies!

I think there's a disproportionately higher number of CDers in the military than in the same general population. Reason? I see so many stories of kindred spirits who joined the military as a coping mechanism to some degree with their non-100% male gendered nature. "Maybe I can macho this out of myself"

I joined the military too, but it had nothing to do with being a coping mechanism that I was ever consciously aware of. I just wanted money for college that I otherwise didn't have ready access to.

When I was in Iraq I felt less pressure to CD because the girls wore the exact same things as the guys. In fact after a few months everyone was so dirty the girls looked pretty much like the guys.
Then one day a couple of Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders came and reminded us what girls were suppossed to look like.

Well, girls aren't supposed to look like anything.

But, a woman dressed in very feminine attire will definitely inspire me to crossdress, wanting to be dressed like them.
