    Help

I guess that I have reached the point in my dressing that I need to talk to someone. No, not the therapist types. I have an understanding of this life (and I accept it most of the time). Although I do have alot of questions. I feel that it would be of better benefit to me if I talked to someone like me. The mrs. has expressed this interest also. She feels the need to speak to someone in the same shoes also(no pun intended). We are in Ohio (south of Akron) and I can` t really find any organization close who may be active or organized. I`m just not sure what to do. Can anyone shed some light here?

Anything specific? There are of course lots of good reading materials available, and i'm rather new so someone else might post all of them as a link. Are you both using this site? cause in the 2 weeks i've been here there have been alot of very good discussions on this life of ours. Sounds like your SO is accepting, that's a good start (bless you both), and hope you find what you seek. mj

I'm a long way from OH, but I googled "transgender support groups" and came up with a number that could work for you and your wife. Good luck!

I don't really have any sugestions for you but you could have your wife join this site and become a member of FAB. She might find it helpful to talk with others in her shoes. (no pun intended here either)

Because I feel that I don`t need a headshrinker. I know what I am and what I am not. I know that I am not gay. Not my thing, but don`t condone it. I don` t want to surgically alter my body, love being a man, but love the softer side of things too!! I just don`t have anyone to connect with and talk about this with, nor does my wife.

    Natalie,

There are, " Loved Ones", and, "Females At Birth Only", sections here at cd.com. Your wife could get confidential info and communicate with other CD SOs there.

If u REALLY want to meet others and their SOs, try a CD convention. I had never met a CD in person until I attended the SCC in Atlanta last Fall. It WASN'T a freak show at all! Simply a lot of lovely, sensitive, and caring individuals. Most of whom wore dresses and heels!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

Let me start by saying that whether you see a psychologist or not is your decision, but I feel I should say that they do more than tell people what their problems are. I'm in a similar situation to you, I knew exactly what I was and what I was not, but still decided to speak to a therapist because they are trained listeners. Also note that the psychoanalytical approach isn't very popular these days, which means you are very unlikely to be told to lie down on a couch and talk about your relationship with your mother.
