You wear the cami over the bra?

I am 5' 10" and also have a very masculine voice! But I go out dressed enfemme almost every day, most often to eat out since I am a widower! But I wear no wig and no makeup. In other words,I am just another guy but wearing a skirt, and a bra under my feminine top!

Who care what the waitress sees? She is not going to yell it out loud, not if she wants to keep her job and get a tip! I know quite a few waitresses, and a few aiters, who definitely know that I crossdress. Do I care? Not in the slightest! It is my life, and as long as what I do is not illegal I will keep doing it. I have been a CD for most of my 78 years and haven't had any problems yet! Don't expect to have any!

BTW, the cami always goes over the bra!!!

I thought camis were worn without bras. Both do a decent job of keeping forms in place it seems.

I've always worn a bra and the cami over it. Most of the ggs I know wear them for modesty. Or for the layered look. Some do have a shelf bra built in. A lot of the girls wear a strapless bra under them.

You begin with panties and move up to bras and/or camis. Panties are a gateway item to the bra....let's face it.

I went to Lady Grace to buy a nice fitting B cup bra to specifically wear under polo shirts or dress shirts. I wanted a nice fit in front and my C's were too much. Finding a B in a 38 is not as easy as I thought. I went through maybe 10 bras and then located the one I wanted. They were very helpful. I explained exactly what I wanted.

As to wearing it....usually I toss on a bra or camisole 2-3 days a week. If I am going shopping I always wear one now. I also bring a shoulder bag with my wig and a pair of heels in it for effect when I try items on. It helps add to the visual.

My experience has always been positive while wearing one. I try not to flaunt it, but try to remember I am wearing it so when a sales associate needs to slide behind me to reach an item, for example, and there is a light touch to the back, it is on the strap with a simple...and she might say excuse me....not HEY, IS THAT A BRA???

On a positive note, I have never been refused to try anything on in a store when wearing a bra or cami, and frequently have been asked if I want to try something on without having to ask. Call it an icebreaker perhaps. Those are nice pluses.

I would say it depends. The regular, everyday camis I buy wouldn't hold up a thing. But there are those with shelf bras that are designed for going bra-less.

I was wearing a bra under a sweater once and I got Ma'amed by a bargirl in the casino. Must be the back hook showed... I'm wearing suntan pantyhodr anfa short slip with a bodice now under a white tee. It doesn't show, but the straps could be felt. After my wife gets home, the pants and tee will come off.

finding bra w/straps that don't show in back

I think I've written this elsewhere, but it bears repeating...

Bras with adjusting buckles in FRONT show much less than those with buckles in BACK! Either find bras with buckles in front, or get a convertable bra with removable straps, then reverse the direction of the straps so the buckles are in front.

Also, wearing a camisole over the bra, as long as the cami has relatively wide straps, helps cover up the bra.

A braslip would also avoid a closure in back. A short slip is easy to tuck in to pull-on slacks, avoids an exposed back, and hides the tops of panties and pantyhose.

I do wear my bras and medium forms out in public and to work quite often , I have been hugged by GG's , I have had my back and shoulders touched by both men and women and have never had any negative comments or reactions from anyone about what I'm wearing.

I do believe that most people are too busy in their own lives to worry about what I'm wearing for underwear , or if they do notice they really just don't care.

Wear what you want to wear and be happy with yourself , don't worry about what other people might or might not think about what your wearing !

Thanks

Thank you all for posting your replies. You have made some very valid points, some of which I should have figured out on my own as I have been shaving my legs for several years now and no one has said anything to me about it. I guess it was the physical contact, especially when I was wearing a bra (I thought I was going to jump out of my skin at first, not knowing what to expect next) that I just wasn’t so sure about. Now that I can think more clearly about it I would say that the physical contact is a good thing, it was in a kind and caring way and I should be grateful for it.

Thanks again for your posts, I feel as though I have made some great new friends here as well as gaining a little wisdom.

Hugs,

Dee

I agree with Julie about the use of a cami. However I think part of the allure about wearing feminine attire is the way it looks, feels and is cut. Men's undergarments are so boring and mainly cotton. Yuck. The things we choose to wear are very pretty and should be seen and appreciated. If only in our imaginations.

Home from work this evening…nothing in the fridge looked good so I decided I would go out for dinner. Decided I wanted something from the menu at the restaurant where the hostess rubs my back so I decided I would put on a bra before leaving for the restaurant (I didn’t wear a bra to work, don’t tell anybody).
Made it to the restaurant, took my seat at the bar and sure enough after a while the hostess seats a table beyond the bar and on her way back to the hostess stand she walks behind me and rubs my back. I don’t think she felt the bra strap. She was rubbing more in the middle and from where she was standing (directly behind me) given her height (she’s kind of short) and the height of the back on the bar stool I don’t think she could have felt the band. Had she been more to the side when she rubbed my back and went lower she could have felt the band or had she rubbed more toward one side she would have felt a strap. So we talk for a couple of minutes before she has to get back to her station. I always enjoy chatting with her.

Ironically there was another regular (GG) sitting next to me when I first arrived, we chatted for a while then she said she had to go because she had to take her daughter bra shopping. Glad I hadn’t just taken a drink before she said that.

I have to admit, maybe it is because of the era I grew up in (those who grew up in the early 80s know what I am talking about), but I am a bit surprised that some people feel it is ok to come up to a total stranger and touch them like that.

it all depends on the top. Even a dark solid cotton top will show a hint of shoulder straps. Patterns tend to break up the outlines. I often wear cami's or bra under my tops, regardless of fabric/pattern. If anyone notices, they haven't mentioned it.

When in doubt, I'll wear a racer-back (front close) bra. That gets everything down between the shoulder blades and behind the pony-tail so its really difficult to see from the rear in any kind of shirt. Over time, I have had several people "find" my bra strap. None (but one) ever said anything to me...and I got the one good. It was shortly after I had transitioned back to male mode and was still a narrow trunk and decent projection. I'm not sure what came over me at that moment, but I whipped up the shirt and bra and said "YUP...keeps these critters under control" and shoved my shirt back down. The look on his face was priceless...

I have wondered if that is what they were up to.

I've noticed repeatedly that I attract much more attention from the ladies when I'm dressed! For some unknown reason they just can't resist a man in heels and stockings and a skirt! I've not tried to analyse it, I just enjoy it!
