Thanks Sherry! Just back from 3rd tour, 1 OIF (Iraq) and 2 OEF (Afghan). Worst thing about all 3 tours was not being able to let Lisa come out and play! Too many posts and countries to list. Most service with 82nd Airborne and USASOC. Retiring in a couple of months after 23 years.

Thanks to everyone who has served and protected.

Wow thank you all for your service and I had no idea. Just when you think you are alone, you find out in you're in excellent company. I served in the USAF from 73 to 97, Phantom II, F-4, units all over. Active duty for them all from Viet Nam to Desert Storm, lost track because there was always something, even when it didn't make the news, I was there. My philosophy during those years was pack a wallet full of clothes and a suit case full of money. Love you all and your commitment to freedom.

I think I have 4 awards of the Good Conduct Medal and Three awards of the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, which is the reserves version of the GCMDL. Let's not get into who's got more medals please.

I dont think people are compairing whos got more medals Jeannie I think people are just proud of there accomplishments.. theres no harm in listing what you have earned or where you have been. Im just glad to have served my country and to do so atm still. It shows that even though we do the hardest job on the planet.. and yes it is for those that have never worn the uniform and deployed over the years away from our loved ones.. missing countless birthdays, births and such we should all be proud of what we have done or continue to do.

Ill tell ya one thing we may wear heels and like to look pretty but we could kick some serious butt if asked to do it again.

Well I really must be careful with my report as at present I'm being scoped by the VA for a few agent orange diseases. But if any one cares to quiz me drop me a line. I served 24 in the services.1954 to 1977.5 GC metals, way more than 1 tour in nam.korea expedition medal. More time in nam than needed for sailor or marine to qualify for agent orange benifits. I have been dressing quite often again, make-up a scosh lacking but presentable. Vivian fair

I believe that some of the Highlander units did in WWI--Black Watch and the Cold Cream (er, Cold Stream )Guards did. For the Bosch, It must have really been "up front-and in his face"!!

I also second the notion that wearing a skirt doesn't mean that we can't kick some serious butt if we need too.

    Hey Kat42,

The test for Navy Nuke power school just lets you try out to see if you've got what it takes to get in the door at the school. The school itself is tremendously difficult, the training takes a long time and graduates who serve and then leave the Navy are HIGHLY sought after in the civilian world.

Sounds like you had what it takes, just had a bad first impression. Both the Navy and you lost out on that one. Sad.
