I was going through the self checkout, not all that feminine looking (capri pants and a purse is about all) and this woman I have never seen before walks by says hi girly and keeps on walking.
I looked up, she was looking straight ahead so there was no eye contact.

I'm glad you received a nice greeting from a perfect stranger but going out in capri pants and carrying a purse is feminine enough. Look around, you were wearing what most women do when shopping. Congratulations, you were accepted for who you are.
That feels good. I was at an Outback Steakhouse when the waiter called me and my now sister-in-law "Pardon me ladies". I felt so girly. Cindy.
A sales lady in Sears called me "ma'am". I loved it.
