Comic books and mail order catalogs

I did not just look at the pictures in the lingerie section like most young boys did I actually read the descriptions for not only the lingerie but for the womens clothing section as well. I became quite knowledgeable on all of the fashion terms related to womens fashions especially the girdles. I mean really how many 7 year old boys know the difference between a panty girdle and body briefer or even what they are in the first place or the difference between a straight skirt and an a-line skirt We always had the big 3 under the family room coffee table. My after school routine was to go home and get out the catalogs and read them. Once mom got home then I switched to comic books. These were a great resource early on as a guide for how to wear my moms clothes properly. I have such fond memories of my youth, mom had some really nice clothes and some great girdles.

[SIZE="4"]Yeah, I remember doing that too. The Sears and Penney's catalogs were the only place young folks like us could see great looking models in sexy lingerie. Well, maybe most of it was pretty tame. Solid foundational garments! LOL Still it made a lasting impression. Sort of like porn for kids just lying around the house!

I still have all my comic books!! In air tight bins, in plastic sleeves. And when I wasn't outside with the neighborhood girls playing "catch the boy and put a dress on him" which I totally sucked at.... I had my nose in the Sears and Robuck catalog looking at guitars, motor bikes and bras and girdles!!

I wasn't as much about looking at the lingerie as I was all of the fashions and accessories. I remember spending hours just looking at catalogs and dreaming. I had the sports section quick tabbed just in case my Dad walked in the room.

I was always too fast of a runner to be caught! But if I ever had a chance to play that game I guess I would have to hope to trip over something!

OH YES! I loved the new catalogs. Sears, Pennys, and Mont Wards. I read the ads a lot, but got caught a few times. I still like girdles and body briefers.

Ah. Sears and Roebuck, JCPenneys, and Montgomery Wards catalogs. Spent many hours in the lingerie sections. The old black and white ads were delightful. Then color! Oh my goodness. Then the new catalogs came out every fall (in August). Couldn't wait for mom to take off the plastic shrink wraps. Like I've said in many other places and situations, mom knew. Moms know everything.

Looking back I just wish I would have saved the catalogs to. I wish there was an onlive archive of these now extinct books you could browse through and reminence.

I have always felt I was born too late. I remember in my early teens seeing women in girdles in the Sears catalog and such. At that point young girls (and their mothers) stopped wearing girdles long ago, but there was still a small selection presumably marketing to mature women who never stopped wearing them (bless their hearts!) I was fascinated by them, how lovely the women looked and what nice posture they had, and I wondered how it would feel to be tightly encased squeezed and held in one (and disappointed that most GGs no longer wore them.)

The first time I wore one I was not disappointed!

I, too, spent hours admiring the models and their clothes and shoes in the Sears, Wards, and Penneys catalogs. I also used to sneak to the basement to read the old Look and Life magazines my dad saved from the fifties and sixties, admiring the beautiful women with great makeup of the time.
Whenever I went to a bookstore (pre-internet), I always went to the psychology section looking for information about crossdressing and fetishes. I uually managed to find some case studies and found them very interesting and with a personal connection. I wanted to see what it was that made me tick by reading about others. I guess that's one of the reasons (among others) why I come to the forum.

Me too! Sears catalogs and comic books. I'd pretend to be interested in the toys section, but I was always looking at women's exercise wear: which was brightly colored tights and leotards at the time. I'd look at the models and wonder what it would be like to wear what they were wearing.
