Participated in the local "Walk a Mile in her Shoes"

event again this last weekend. Loved it. It's the third time I have participated (out of three local events ). Great event, great cause and a lot of fun. Even though I was far from the biggest fundraiser I still managed to raise $300.00 for the local YWCA's Domestic and Sexual abuse program. And I got to wear my new boots in public! I bought these just for this event, and boy did they gather the attention! I was interviewed by the two local television stations and won the "Best Strut" contest held by the radio station that was on hand! I also managed to finish well in front of most others since my ankles were supported so well by the boots. Yep practical,,,, that's why I bought them.... (if you believe that then I have a bridge in New York for sale). All in all a good day.

    Here are my "Strutting" boots.

Kimmy, those boots are awesome. They will look fabulous with your new Halloween costume. I volunteered at the same event, near my home town, but didn't take part in the walk. We'll be waiting to see photos of your costume on Halloween. Cheers, VSJ.

Congratulations, good job on the fund raising, I am having trouble getting to my wifes goal of $500 for her triathlon in 3 more weeks.

The boots are gorgeous, I wore those same Argyle tights on stage to accept my employee of the year nomination.. too funny...

Great excuse to buy a great pair of boots, Love that you got them in red, so they stand out. Maybe the ankle support helped, but you probably have more practice walking in those heels than most of the completion.

Kimmy, was the distance literally a mile? It takes some pretty strong feet to do that in heels, especially the first time. Congratulations!

No, it was closer to half of that. Most of the guys were hobbling as it was. Didn't want to need medics for them....lol..
