    Dear Neuroscientists,

Is there a reason why when I want to lessen my GID without fully dressing I put jewelry on my Left wrist or ankle? Is it because I am left-handed or is it because GID emanates from the right hemisphere of the brain?

I wonder if others have a preferred side to adorn.

I think it's 'cause you're right handed and it's just easier that way.

Now look what you have done! Not only do I have to worry about getting those bloody eyelashes on straight, the eyeliner smooth, and not put out an eye with the mascara, now I have to worry about right left orientation.

Put on one of them home made, tin foil hats and then it won't matter, the neurons will be suitably scrambled and thereby non influencing.

    Uhhhh yeah......

You could always dress up the hat with some bows or polka dots yanno?

Left-handed is much more common among gay men than the general population.
Its something you are born with. Gay is something you are born with.
How many of us Cds are left-handed?
    I am right-handed.

I am ambidextrous. I can do everything with both hands equally well except write. I used to be able to write with both though. I could read and write before I started school and I would use one hand then when it got tired I would switch my pencil to the other and keep going. When I got into public school they made me stop doing that and I was only allowed to write with my right hand. I was told I was retarded if I used both hands by a teacher.
funny thing is I was also told I wrote like a girl.

I guess I put my ankle bracelet on either side, usually the right because I'm right handed....

There's a higher proportion of artists that are left handed as well, mainly because the right hemisphere of the brain controls hand-eye coordination.

Lefties are the future, and one day all you right handed types will have to admit you were wrong and beg for forgiveness!!

To answer the original question though, depsite being left handed I actually prefer wearing things on my right wrist. It's where I wear my watch though, so that might explain that.

Aside from compulsory use of the right hand, Almostalady, your story could be mine, including precocious reading, writing, and arithmetic. I don't recall anyone being made to use their right hand, though. It's the fine motor skills I can't do as well with my left hand. Handwriting, very slow, but legible. Driving a nail with a hammer, doable, but miss the nail a lot more. Driving screws by hand or turning wrenches, almost complete ambidexterity.

As for jewelry, I prefer symmetry. I'm not sure where gender identity is located in the brain. Elizabethamy, you might find something about it with Google Scholar.

When I tie my belt on a pair of trousers it goes either way.
It is one thing I have not got consistent and am really not sure which direction to tie it now.
No I don't think there are any neuroscientists here, just a lot of brain surgeons.

I'm right handed but wear my diamond tennis bracelet on my left wrist, though my anklet on my right ankle. Never thought about it. Just a preference.
