Amy has left the bedroom (first time)!

Had a first that I wanted to share with you all. I left the house dressed yesterday.

I am joining a local support group that meets every month. Last night was my second meeting. I went to the first meeting dressed in "Drab", just so I could get a feel of what I should expect and to ensure that I was at the right place. Last thing I would want to do is show up at Bingo night in the wrong place dressed up!

So after the first meeting I knew that this would work well. They are a very friendly and welcomed me. I felt very comfortable with the members and the location. So I made a point to make it to the second meeting and go dressed. This was a first for me and one that I am glad that I got to do. I have spent a lot of time and money on Amy. It really seemed like a shame that my bedroom mirror is the only one who ever saw me.

I started shaving down in the beginning of the week. I started with my legs on the first night, then chest and stomch the second, and pits last. I didn't shave my arms yet. For some reason that seems like a big step for me. I think that is the one area that most people will notice. By Saturday I had bought a new dress, and was ready to go.

I got my clothes on, did up my makeup, and added a couple accessories to complete the look. (I should have taken pictures, or better had someone take them of me!!!) I walked out the front door, and saw no one around. So I headed for the car door just in time for a political campaign person to chase me down to talk. Gahhhh!!! Of all the timing in the world. NOT NOW!! LOL I kindly answered a couple of his questions, and told him that I was late to a Halloween party (What a convenient cover story for me!). And then I was off, and had a great time at the meeting. I really enjoyed being among others that enjoy the same thing that I do. We all looked great. So i think I'll continue going and make some new friends.

Sorry for the long post! But I really wanted to share. It was very exciting for me.

That's a great and beautiful story Amy. And especially for you to be out of the bedroom for the first time too and to go be among people like us, It is such an exhilarating feeling to be out and about in public like that, and to socialise and share stories with others like this, and you get to make new friends as well. My only support group outside of this site is SCC. I wish there was such a local group here in my town, but no luck. So you're going every month now?

And oh wouldn't it have been a kodak moment if you had the dates wrong and walked into the bingo night, oh no. But I'm happy for you that you have such a place to go to like that, I'm happy for you.

    Peace and Love,
    Tara

I would die if that ever happened, and with my luck it will.

Congrats for leaving the bedroom Amy! That is a huge step, and one I have not yet really accomplished. But as you said, Halloween is a great cover story. I am planning on using it to get out. I have been trying to find support groups in my area. My search has come up with a few, but I get so nervous, that I chicken out.

    Darlin,
It was thrilling for me to read your post, and IMO, it was just perfect in every way, including its length. Best wishes and please keep us informed on other outings.

Well done Amy, will let you know when Sophya leaves the bedroom... Although as she only wears stockings and a thong there might be a delay during her incarceration (just passed Holloway prison on the bus). .' ] XXXXXx

Trust me...very very few will notice your missing arm hair. I shaved mine and it was many months before anyone noticed and when asked about it all I said was I just like my arms bare....feels better to me. Nothing else ever mentioned.

Genetic women have arm hair. Some have more, some have less. If you can't/don't want to shave it, buy a "men's groomer" (an electric clipper) and use the guides to trim your hair shorter, but still leave some. I've heard about products to bleach the hair also. This might help while still leaving some hair.

Good for you Amy. It will only get easier from here on out. I'll bet within a month, you will be going out on your own. But I am confused about your "concern' for your arm hair. I think if you take a quick peek here VVV, you may decide your concerns are "silly".

I did not go that path, but I do believe the support group is one of the best to go.

I know that shaving my arms really shouldn't be that big of a deal, but there is something about it that does seem like a big deal to me. Its all in my head. I know that. If there were any group that can understand how your head can play games with you, you all can! LOL I think the other part is, I want to let the rest of my body adjust to being shaved. I have found that my chest and arm pits are a little irritated at the moment. So, I'm going to let my bod adjust some first. Excuses, I know right?

I will certainly keep you all posted, and thanks for the support! You all are Fabulous!

    :Hugs
