Today I found a pair of brown leggins I had forgot about so put them on and a matching sweater and stopped for an early walk around a strip mall that was not open yet but right off a busy street. So at lunch time I parked around a corner from what I thought was an adult only video store and walked all the way around and again it was a very busy area with people coming in and out of stores and driving by. I had on my 5 inch heel boots the tight leggins and a sweater that did not go past my waist. I braved the exciting walk and thought the adult store would get me out of public for a breather but I went inside at there we several customers looking at regular videos. So I had to ask where the adult section was and the SA pointed around the corner so I had to go around and through a door and again I thought I would be alone but no, a male customer. I walked all through the videos and then out the door. The SA asked if I found what I was looking for and I said yes thank you and then had to walk all the way back to my car. Very exciting and strange feeling when you are not so close to your car or a safe zone. Some looks but that is why I dress that way, If I wanted to blend in I would dress in drab! Now I need a new challenge!

Good story. I always hated going back into those rooms. I always felt like every eye in the world was on me. LOL good thing there is online shooping, huh? I still havent left my safezone (my home) but I can not wait to "pass" and be able to go places without thinking I look like a dude. I may not be a supermodel, but I think I can pull it off once I have all my tools.

At first I thought that less people would be better, but now I think with a few more we are better off. So far I feel that the safest place is a mall during the middle of the day, large department clothing stores, city parks and the adult places very last if during dark. However, my first public out was in an adult store about daylight. I did go to an Adam & Eve store and Victorias Secret today (12:00 noon) in guy mode, but next time I am going to buy something while enfemme. I do stay away from parks near school zones though. I have a great set of high heels but I am holding off since I am trying to blend in, not attract attention, but then again I am going to the mall tomorrow so I might wear the high heels. I am for sure wearing them in and then probably setting down and changing to a more comfortable shoe to walk the mall in. Go to a mall and just walk around like you do not have a worry in the world!...because in the mall I really do not think you do! Amanda

I find it curious that when someone goes out for the first time alone they figure an adult store seems an appropriate destination.
I have seen several here and other sites too where people have done this.
Call me old fashioned but wouldn't a grocery or mall be a better place.WalMart,Kmart or any clothing store?
Can't say I have seen a well dressed woman in heels in an adult store.

Well, it wasn't my first time out and my destination was not the video store just walking by at a strip mall and decided to go in to calm the nerves. I think the adult store feels a little more safe for several reasons though since I think that was the first place I ever dressed about 25 years ago and if you are not fully passable then it is less likely somebody is going to take a picture and go home and say look what I saw while I was shopping for porn. LOL Other places you might wind up on a "people of". I will have to try a public store next time but I think part of my interest goes with the fact that I get noticed in drab so if I am going to get attention I would rather be in heels. I also always stay in safe places.

As for an adult store...well in the extreme rarity of bumping into someone you know, they are unlikely to tell their wife while they were shopping for porn they seen so and so. One would not be recognized anyways. But now, it is probably not a very good choice eventhough I have done it myself. Walmart at noon is a heck of alot safer!

Not that you won't find nasty people at Wal Mart or the grocery but more apt to find a perv at an adult store thinking you are a hooker or looking for a hook up.

So in response to this I put on my 6 inch wedges, leggins and a sweater and went out in public around lunch time. I first went in to a beauty supply store. 2 SA's total different reactions, I got a "Well, look at you, What can I help you with today" The other one, just stood there and stared at me like she was a statue. I got my lip gloss and looked around and then walked back to the car with my best hip swing going. Then I went to a local adult store barely got a look from the SA and most of the male and female customers just ignored me, except one guy that just kept staring at me and following me, I said hi and he said hi and moved around the store but he was really checking me out. I went to a different adult store that was not busy and nobody really looked twice at me. The fun one was when I stopped at a strip mall and walked from one end to the other and back, One of the stores was a beauty school that I did not know was packed with woman until I walked by the second time and I heard the whistles, laughs and clapping coming from the inside. I looked over smiles waved and strutted on to my car. Fun day and I think I am ready to go out to a club or something with more interaction. The funny thing is that I looked at the website for the beauty school i walked by and they do make up and nails at a really cheap price, I think they would have fun getting me ready for my night at the club.

Can't add much here, only the WalMart reference. If ever there was a place for rednecks to teach thier kids about fag bashing, intolerance of anything but nascar, and how not to dress in public, it's WalMart. I'd rather go to a white supremist meeting. If you're purposely looking for a guy with a mullet, six toes, and carrying an open beer while buying his kids $4 shoes-go for it.

From my limited experience, safest place to be out is busy areas (downtown cores of the cities), safest time is daytime. Late and night and early morning you'll find the drunks and obnoxious. Best wishes, Natasha
