This has been A Bad Day!

Just to let you all know that not everything is always peachy keen after you reach womanhood. There is still life to deal with.

We had an accident on the job today. A scaffolding that some masons were using collapsed. 1 man dead and 4 others in critical condition. So far it looks like a safety pin broke allowing one of the legs on the scaffolding to twist.

I don't feel much like conversation tonight. Good night.

Let's have some good come of it:

You will suggest now that on any job site you work on, in his honor and to protect the living
you will do due diligence with a ( insert name of deceased ) pin check prior to building scaffolding,
whereby pins are checked for signs of stress and replaced after so many hours and to manufacturer specs.
Note the low pins fatigue faster and should be replaced sooner.
This does not bring him back, but keeps his memory alive and hopes to prevent future accidents around the world.

All I ever wanted was to be a girl. Is that really asking too much?

I'm so sorry to hear about this Jorja.

Working in industry as I do, especially as a tradesperson, safety can never be overlooked when we are on the job. Things like this change lives, families, and companies in the blink of an eye forever and every time it is tragic.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the families of those involved.

Construction is a very dangerous profession. In spite of our efforts to remain safe. Events happen to thwart those efforts. My heart goes out to those surviving workers and their families. Their lives in many cases will be altered dramatically. I will keep them and you Jorja in my prayers

Thank you everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers, and support through this situation. It has been a long day of questions by police and OSHA officials. On a good note, the 4 that were in critical condition have improved and are in good condition as of this afternoon.

We had a jobsite accident last October under the boat that resulted in death. A Bobcat bucket crushed the boatyard manager..it was awful..he died a month later from septic shock as a complication from skin grafts. The week after the accident,an acetylene bottle relief valve gave up and we had a huge bunsen burner for a half hour, just waiting to involve the oxygen tank it was strapped to..and really blow! So,two responses from the FD in a ten day period was very upsetting. On a jobsite, things sure change from good to bad in the blink of an eye. I sure can relate to your sadness.I hope the injured recover fully.
It SURE is my hair ! I have the receipt and the box it came in !

Jorja, i am saddened by your loss. My job involved being on highway construction sites, and doing highway surveys, and I have been involved in losses of people I knew and worked with on the site. I am glad to hear the critical injured are doing better. take your time and work things out, and look for the thing you can take away from this that makes the job site safer the next time.
