San Francisco Bay Area underwear shops?

Hi -- I'm new here and am interested in wearing lacy panties. I hate shopping online, and I am chubby (42" waist). Any recommendations? I tried searching the forums and was not successful. Thanks!

First, welcome to this group of very knowledgeable and very friendly people. I am sure that you will get all sorts of advice. I don't know of any particular shops in the Bay Area that can help you but I find the Dept stores have a good selection and lots of choice. If you want to go online try SEcrets in Lace or if you want something cheaper and you wish to experiment with sizes and styles, try E Bay. Don' t be shy about shopping in Dept stores. The clerks just want to be helpful and make a sale and if you are polite and nice with them, they will respond in kind.

Try going to ROSS Dress for Less I've found there selection to be good. there are quite a few locations in the bay area and if you rotate between store locations nobody looks twice at you when you are buying women's clothes.

Ross would have the best range of oddments, otherwise there are many specialist lingerie shops in most malls all around town.

Avoid rooting around the lingerie racks without a sales associate. It just looks weird and draws unwanted attention to yourself. Outer wear should be no problem.

In the early 1980's I remember there used to be a very nice little lingerie store in San Fran. They used to have a small mail order business too and they sold some wonderful, very feminine, and just plain nice things. All were feminine and flattering, very womanly lingerie. I do not believe they are any longer in business in their original location.

The store's name as I recall was called something like......Victoria's Secret. No joke. San Fran is where it all started, and I still have some of their old catalogs to prove it!

I find that the ladies in major department stores are very friendly and helpful. I have shopped at Penney's, Macy's and Nordstrom recently (not in SF but near me), and had good experiences at all. I recently tried the Wacoal bodysuede panties, which i find very soft and comfortable. You would wear size 10 in those, though you would wear a size 8 in Vanity Fair, my favorites. PM me if you want to talk more about that. Hugs, Nancy

Ms. NancySue: I just LOVE the Wacoal Bodysuede line. One of my all time favorites.
