    Am I a CDing Grinch?

My entire CD life must come to an abrupt halt today as Christmas nears. You can't beat a bit of drama from a crisis can you? My young and very bright granddaughter is over tomorrow for a few nights and then the sister-in-law and kids over the weekend too. Straight after that, my sons will be here for Christmas Eve until Boxing Day.

I seriously love having my family over but it's like having a visitor to Thunderbirds' Tracy Island. All signs of my deviant art form must now find a new home or I risk being outed in an instant. The SIL knows about me and has seen pics, so no problems there. This was to lessen the burden of my alter ego secret on my wife.

So in a very Grinch and selfish way, I'm sort of caught between having a ball and not being able to get girl for a while. I guess girl me is on the back burner for a week or so. I know some here have to give it up for months on end what with kids and all that, but having been on easy street for so long, I'm going to struggle on this one.

I know the positives far outweigh the negatives, but I still can’t get the thoughts out of my head........miserable Grinch!

It's only a week, I'm in same situation. Keep reminding myself family first and always. Just think, what would it be like if you did not have the family to enjoy. Put the Grinch away and revel in the moment.

I feel for you... I deal with this every year when my father in law visits from out of town for Christmas. He usually stays several weeks and it does get stressful not being able to even hide in the basement for a few hours. I've often thought he'd be totally ok with it, but not sure it's something my wife wants him to know. (I can understand that.)

    Rebecca,
I think a lot of us feel that way when we are put out by family commitments.
Maybe we have it too good sometimes.

Just try to strike a balance, others are also having a hiatus at this time of year so remember them and enjoy your family for a while.

It is like television, it is the silly season. Bing Crosby, White Christmas and all that.
See you at it again in the new year.
    Work on your elegance,
    and beauty will follow.

There's only one way to deal with these situations - your best lingerie. I have great delight in wearing my laciest panties when I can't wear tops and skirts, especially when it is one of my bigoted in-laws holding me back.

    "Boxing Day" ???

Unless you come out to the world as a crossdresser, there will be days, even weeks when you must dress as a man. That's part of life in society. Get busy with something else and just put it in the back of your mind. You can do it.

Yes - Boxing Day! been with us in these Sceptred Isles since Victorian times (along with CDing High Court Judges and public school fags (in US English that would be: Private school unpaid servants).

Poor Rebecca - if you're anything like me your mind will be drifting in anticipation but it will make post-Crimbo all that much sweeter. It's just one of those responsibility things I suppose we have to take on - that is, bearing the internal burden for those who could not deal with the concept of CD if it was externalised. Like not telling your kids that Santa isn't real!
Enjoy your family, Christmas, and the thoughts of Christmas passed (pun )

And shouldn't that be Scrooge and not Grinch over here?

Put it away for the holiday and appreciate all those wonderful family members, something that many would love to have but don't. Balance is the key.

I think they're asking what boxing day is... I learned of watching MASH...
Anywho, in England, and their colonies, and i think Canada plays to. It's the day after Christmas and the upper class trade places with he lower class. The highest boss at the company trades places with the lowest person, and so on....
When they did it on MASH, Klinger took Col Potter's job, and the Col took Klingers, The doctors became orderlies, and the orderlies did the non life or death things the doctors did and so forth, and so on....

I feel for you I am in the same position as you are. I have to put away all my girly things in a little whie. One of my grand children is coming this afternoon and staying until after the first of the year. There are a few litltle things I'm going to keep at hand and I can slip into panties and still wear those. Giving up that female me does give a bit of sadness but having the kid here and then the rest of the family next week far outweighs that. Seeing how happy it makes my wife to have them here and enjoy them gladdens my heart.

    Hi Rebecca,

Those nasty "Whos" in Whoville . . . think of it this way . . . it will be that much better when the dust clears and you can bring Rebecca back from the "XMAS dead letter department"

Happy Christmas to you and your family.

    Hugs

I don't know if your feelings make you a Grinch or not. I, and I suspect many others, also have the situation where during the Holidays family members are around and times to be en femme are limited. Remember, "this too shall pass"!

I feel your pain, as I'm often in the same situation. I'm also becoming more and more daring with girl time while guest are over, scaring the heck out of my wife, but never making for a dull moment and quite the adrenaline rush!

Thanks for all the replies. At least I get to under dress, which in itself, is a lovely way to spend the day.

I went for a job interview today in London, suited and booted as we say, with a super soft pair of black knicks underneath.

Yes a lot of us have to scale back on the dressing during the holidays. But It's all worth it.

Nah! - that's a romanticized version of Boxing Day that maybe still exists in storybooks or to some extent in the U.K., but now the commercialism has completely taken it over in most parts of the world.

Here in Canada, Boxing Day is typically a holiday and our version of your Black Friday. It features the same kind of mass hysteria and shopping frenzy where people try to snag the lowest prices of the year - especially when it comes to clothes, electronics, mobile phones, big screen TV's, video games, appliances, home furnishings, and the like.

The main difference in our case is that we are now flush with all that cash as well as the gift cards that we received as Christmas presents, and can now shop till we drop without going totally and insanely into debt... .
