Anyone stop HRT because they didn't like the mental effects? What did it feel like?

I have heard TS's say how the mental effects of HRT really helped them and that the mental effect of Testosterone commonly made them feel awful (If they are MTF).

So I was wondering if any of you have tried HRT then stopped because you "didn't" like the mental effects? Could you tell us what it felt like and what you didn't like?

I was wondering if it made you feel awful like a pre-transition TS?

    Just curious.

Edit: I'm not advocating self medication. The individual might have stopped Doctor supervised HRT. You don't have to tell us. It's just that I have heard people say that they stopped HRT because they mentally felt strange. I'm just wondering what that meant.

.. Not physical, not if you quit once and started again, not if your SO thought you looked like a penguin. Don't make me delete every answer OK?

I have been called many things; a beautiful person, a piece of sh&t, but I have never been told I look like a penguin(wink).

I don't know about the other aspects and will let others comment...but it would seem like your doctor would be the right avenue to discuss facts. I hope you get your answers but from a highly informed medical specialist trained in these things.

To answer the question, I felt different and had slight mood swings, I had more bravado and my judgement was skewed as to how good I thought I was.
I only stopped HRT after my physician directed me to.
His concern was that I was wanting to be more outgoing as a female whilst being treated.
He was already supervising me, the mood swings stopped, and the bravado decreased.
I was more aware of presenting as a girl properly than I had been with the treatment.
There were other factors involved also that brought it to a conclusion.

The question is a little too specific for me to give the answer.
I realise I have still not answered the question even now as it was not me that decided to stop treatment.
    Sorry.

if you feel bad enough to stop either transition was the wrong choice for you or the dosage was to low or to high and a chemical imballance is occuring...

first time 'round things were wonderful...but that was 33 years ago (and a much younger body!). The "mental effects" were wonderful. I started up again several years ago but had to quit. I felt fine, but blood pressure went all screwie and Doc said it wasn't wise to continue.

I've only observed that some people do fine on HRT and some don't. Some gain friends and some lose friends.
