Helen out and about and the ballet

Ahh...what a lovely afternoon and evening....early dinner in Oba in Portland and then ballet at the Keller Auditorium.
Oregon Ballet Theater always has really outstanding performances...well worth it

Thank the Lord I wore some 3.5" heels and not my usual higher heels...after 7 hours, I was ready to take my shoes off!
    hugs to all..

Very nice shoes. Nice outfit. Always a good idea to have a pair a flat slippers handy. However, no room for those in a tiny dress purse.

Much as I do not want to sound like someone that says "Me Too", I honestly must say that you look wonderful. I really like the whole ensemble.

I *DO* have one original thought: That's a great photo, given difficult back lighting.

    Helen,

What a fantastic event for you - would love to do ballet or a concert too - and a super look and appropriate ensemble: simple, striking and classy!

    Charming...

The only Ballet I see is usually from the wings when I am working.
Some of those girls look cute closeup, I don't care for the men so much.

Helen, it sounds like you had a wonderful evening. Is Portland really that cool?
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
    Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!

Hi gurls, thanks for all the lovely replies and Carla and yes, PDX really is that cool...here, as long as one is not offensive in any way, almost everything goes. Two rows in front of us at the theatre was a gay couple and before the program started, they leaned into each other and gave themselves a quick kiss and all was well. It truly and well is a very accepting city...

As to me, I did not see anyone -absolutely ANYONE staring at me or doing double-takes, and I had asked my girl friend (a GG) to be on the lookout for people staring at us and she reported no one, so....I either passed pretty well or again -no one cares that a reasonably put-together T-gurl was among them.

I do have to say 'not bad for being on the wrong side of 60'.

I'm really surprised no one was looking, I would have been in either dress mode. Your picture shows nothing of been on the wrong side of anything. Lovely my dear. Only thing I would change is me sitting next to you for the evening out..

Now, if I was there, I would be staring. I always enjoy looking at beautiful ladies. You're in that category. IMHO.

You look very attractive. The dress looks marvelous on you. Everyone should look so well being on the 'wrong' side of sixty.

What s beautifully put together outfit! Killer legs, too. Wrong side of sixty? Even more amazing! The opera is the kind of place where the appearance standards are pretty high, so kudos for passing that test.
