    Reaching Out to the Community

My wife and I decided to go public and post resources on relationship, non binary, and makeup/fashion topics! Our goal is to reach out to the community and also make known that is quite ok to express yourself the way you choose.

There are some limits on this site, but feel free to check out my signature on my profile to find the url. Feedback is much appreciated since we are trying to hit the hot topics first.

    I hope this helps!

    Kristy,
I consider it a bold move, but a good one.

Thanks Beverley, Stacy, and Kristina, we are happy to hear the good feedback.

Kristina, do you know of any trans/cd hot spots in New Orleans? I know the community is pretty big down there, we just need to be pointed in the right direction next time we are in town.

Thanks Isha, I will make sure to pass that compliment on to my wife. Flatlander, I think you sparked a good idea there when you say "linking to a larger community". That is certainly key if we want to gain acceptance from people outside the community.

Good site and a fun read. Very helpful for those that would like some fashion tips. I love looking at pictures and examining how you other CDers pass more easily and try to mimic!

Thank you Samantha, CD_Blue, Sanderlay, and Aylineira. I really thank my wife for helping me catch up with tips a mother would give her daughter in term on fashion. We have found a lot of fun tricks that we will be sharing later on. Our goal is to help out with others by righting key information, but also keep it fun with the clothes/makeup. Sometimes we all need a break and just have fun with our expression!

As someone who has done quite a lot of web site building and blog building both professionally and personally, I'd say you're off to a good start. It looks nice and has some useful content, and thank god you have writing skills (so many don't).

You will soon learn two lessons, however: 1) getting a blog up and running is the easy part. The tough part is attracting an audience and giving them good reasons to return; and 2) a successful blog is a LOT of work because the real challenge of a good blog comes after your first flurry or two of posts, when you have exhausted your idea list and have to constantly come up with new and interesting content that will keep your readers coming back. If you let it get stale or boring your fans will disappear and you'll find yourself speaking to an empty room, so to speak. Unless they're personal friends, most people will lose interest after not finding new content on one or two follow-up visits.

Welcome to the world of short attention spans, and keep up the good work! :-)

    Lovely couple!

I liked the articles, especially "5 steps to Acceptance" and "Transgender Movement", well written and interesting.

Thanks Sherri! Yes, you are completely right when it comes to consistently updating the blog site. We intend on posting one every one to two days. We have a long list of topics, so it is just all about getting the time to be creative and start writing. It has been fun so far!

Thank you for the feedback Julia! This is great inspiration for us to keep on writing.

Love the website, to echo Julia above the 5 steps to acceptance post was great and very well-written. Your wife is a catch!

Thanks Erica, all credit goes to her for that post. I am so glad she touch up on that topic since it can be such a confusing time when coming out to someone who is foreign to this subject.

    Thanks for the input!
