    Them...

Those CDers on all those "other" sites. Some of you are members of a few and many here quite likely drove by some of them on your way in to THIS Forum?

Are "those" guys really CDers at all? Or are they "bad" CDers? And/or give "all CDers a bad name"? Or are "they" doing it wrong?

Is it "just a HOBBY" [obviously] to them? So, since it IS just a hobby, they likely TELL everyone about their hobby?

Maybe they all/most of them want to be "real CDers" deep down? And possibly many... might even want to transition?

FACT: ANY search engine will give endless pages if one searches for Crossdressing.

    Feel any better now?

I see folks toss out all kinds of #s/guesses as to what PERCENTAGE of men "crossdress" and I don't think it's possible to even come close to an accurate prediction of the percentage who do...

    How about 10 percent...

    Make you feel any better?

How about 30 or 40 percent?

If 30 or 40 were accurate or true, would you "worry less" about being a CDer?

Is there a right way or a wrong way? Who made the rules?

I don't want anyone judging me, so I'm not here to judge anyone else.

If one cross dresses for what ever reason, then they are a CDer.

Somebody on Canadian radio made a comment that about 30% of the people in Congress in the US are probably underdressing. I feel pretty normal...

This makes me think about the expression that 95% of men masturbate and the other 5% lie about it. So who will ever really know what the real precentage is of men who CD. If there is any problem with some of the other sites, it is this, they paint a picture of CDing being nothing more than a sexual fetish. Well maybe it is for some, but not all. Like my Psych Prof once said, "all _____'s are drunks, the one I saw was"! People often make judgements with very little evidence, and nothing will change there minds, what can you do about "them", nothing, absolutely nothing. I can only guess that 100% of the men who frequent this site are CDers, or latent CDers. Another curve ball thrown at the Statisticians!
I like myself, regardless of the packaging that I may come in! It's what is on the inside of the package that counts!

I watched a CD documentary the other day and this GG who has a dressing business says the world would be SHOCKED at how many men pass through her doors. Her estimates were as high as 40%.

If this turns out to be true, I think there's a civic duty to educate women that crossdressing is a common male phenomenon so we don't feel 'abnormal', too. Bring it into sex ed in schools or something.

I mean, just in my friendship trio alone, two of us have a CD in the family! And I know a GG here has a sister married to a CD. Throw a stone and you'll hit one, apparently

I'd guess the rate of CDs amongst the male population is at most 10%. I'd tend to believe more like 3%-5%.

Personally, I'm not worried about whether other men admit or not, nor the percentage. I am what I am and has no bearing on others. I am 50% male. (and how do I know exactly how other males feel?) and I am 50% female. (my emotional response to what I believe to be female). I think the deciding factor is ones
feelings and what popular societal view defines what gender you can express. Take away the stigma of being male or female, and the chance to present as one identifies, it would probably go 60% to 40% how one feels to what ones born gender is.

I tripped over a bunch of these sites on my way here. Most were commercial porn sites (definitely not what I was looking for). Others sucker people in by offering "free membership" that turns out to be for from a week to a month and emailing you with what turn out to be offers of sex from suspicious "members" (a good way to tell is if almost all of these have the same words misspelled the same way). I have good radar plus certain addresses that I've used for potentially dangerous sites and which can be turned into dumpsites if this sort of thing occurs I just don't visit them again. I know at least one is still sending these emails, but no one's home and doesn't plan to be.
As far as percentages go, "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics." - Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain). The one fact always left out of surveys is that people lie, especially when asked questions the answers to which they feel might cause them potential harm or damage but the survey needs a name to make sure the response is not entered more than once. The questions can themselves be skewed to elicit a desired response, which is why before even reading one you need to find out who funded it; who funded them and on and on ad infinitum; being particularly careful of those concerning politics.
ALWAYS plan for the worst, then you can be pleasantly surprised if something else happens!

Since 33 & 1/3 % of statistics are made up on the spot the actual percentage isn't really relevant. It's not really a matter of how many of "Them" do or don't. Its more a matter of how I and those close to me feel about it.

Most guesses on these forums are way optimistic, as crossdressers desperately wish to believe that everyone else is just like us, it's a common feeling that most people have. Standard surveys usually indicate 2 to 2.5% of the male population in western civilizations crossdress on a regular basis.
For some, it's a hobby, for others, it is not.

There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.

It's scary isn't it? How many "other" sites there are?

Anyone care to guess the ratio of them to this site?
