    LGBT Friendly? It is now.

A couple of girlfriends have been talking about getting out more in the mainstream, instead of the same routine (i.e. LGBT bars and restaurants). So, a few weeks ago, about 6 of us took our first pole dancing class! It was a blast. The instructor was amazing and extremely happy to have her first transgender clients. She made us feel wonderful and helped us connect a little more to our feminine sides, through dancing.

At the end of the class, one of the girls asked about attending the regular classes and whether it would bother other customers if she came dressed. The instructor said if someone had a problem with it, they were not welcome as customers!

Here is a picture of our "graduating" class I got permission from all of the girls, but one. And, she may have said "yes," but I was not able to reach her.

Speaking of LGBT friendly, we also went to a new restaurant that heretofore had not been certified (by whichever agency has such duties) as LGBT friendly. These same friends who I went to the pole dancing class with had scoped out a new restaurant and just started going there. My first time was this past Friday.

The waitstaff, cooks and bartenders were all amazing and welcoming. They now look forward to our visits each Friday night to spice things up a bit. I was wondering how places became LGBT friendly, and now I know.

What a great example of how to make a positive impact and have fun at the same time...

Darn shame I'm not closer to Houston... makes me positively want to get out..

    Caitlyn,

I went to Verticality in December dressed. I was treated very well there and have a few gg friends from my class now. I'd love to go there with you sometime!

OK, let me get this straight -- that photo is one of the class with the GG's?
Great to hear you all had a good time, keeping active (I have heard that pole dancing is a good physical workout), getting out into the mainstream, and being together having fun. What more could a group of girls want?

Sometimes I make sense and that frightens me.

What a great way to increase the LGBT friendly community. Some day I hope to be part of group of t-girls that we all go do fun things like this.
