    Gesundheit!

One of main ways of passing as a female is to speak with a feminine voice, but if you can master that, does that mean you can also sneeze like a woman? I never read this topic here yet, so I thought I'd bring it up. I seem to be having some allergies acting up, and I'm sneezing every so often, so that's what brought it to mind.

I have a big manly sneeze just like my father, so if I ever get the chance to go out fully dressed and passable in public, I sure hope I don't sneeze otherwise I'd be read right away.

Same question as Cheryl. I have a cute little "feminine" sneeze, it often goes completely unnoticed. But my much more petite spouse has a sneeze that could pop the moonroof on an SUV.

On the other hand, my cough has been known to cause heart attacks in elephants several counties away while her coughs are polite and delicate.

    Hugs,
    Persephone.

Haha my sneeze is definitely quite masculine. It would be a rather amusing contrast en femme lol...

I can sneeze so hard my wig could slip, so nothing lady like there. If I try to stifle it I'd blow my eyelashes off (lol)

    How can you practice sneezing...?

I suppose a liberal dosing of pepper... or other fine, nasally inducted powder... Snuff! Obviously...

My wife has the most feminine of sneezes - she actually says ' ahhh-tchoo' - in a very soft and high register, and with a ladylike pause in the middle... I have to learn to emulate that as my normal male sneeze is a shout that sends the cat scurrying and even when stifled is a raucous, rasping spuffle...

I'm not looking forward to practicing that...

Most people these days are SO into themselves, they are not going to GASP and be shocked because they hear ANYONE sneeze loudly.
People don't pay as much attention to you as you might think.
There are SO many NUTS out there today, that being 'normal' is becoming a minority.

One ex co-worker squeaked. She also did this when she hiccuped. No way I could even come close, my sneezes tend to take the top of my head off!

    Naturally her nickname was squeaky!
"Normal is what you get when you average out the weirdness that everybody has." Quote from my SO

Normal is a setting on a washing machine, or another word for average.

The fact that I wear a skirt as a male should not be taken as a comment on what you do, or do not wear, or how you wear it.

I think if I tried to contain my sneeze, my head would explode. I need to let 'er rip.

I contain my sneeze, especially when around others.

It does make the bones in my back pop, however, which feels good actually.

My sneezes have been measured on the Richter scale. I've heard some women with little tiny sneezes but I couldn't do that if my life depended on it. I sneezed so loud in Korea back in the 80s they thought we were under attack...

I have heard the small dainty sneeze squeaks and then the loud "let 'er rip" types from both genders. However, most women do try and are quite successful in controlling and minimizing the sneeze. Whereas most guys do not try and just let it come out naturally with no effort to control it. Now, I have learned to somewhat control it at certain very special times, those times where some control can be very much appreciated by a very sore and tender body, like after one of my too many lower torso medical procedures, like a vasectomy, double hernia repair, prostate removal and installation of a useless male sling and another recent "minor procedure", as my overly optimistic Colo-rectal specialist called it. Now, tie all that together with a bad cold, which I have today, with all of its unwanted symptoms, trying to control that seemingly uncontrollable sneeze is more than well worth it, even though I too immediately worry about blowing both eyeballs out of their warm and secure sockets just before that big, and sometimes even little, sneeze is building up. It is just a matter of getting beyond that initial fear, which is somewhat like taking that first step out of the house fully dressed as the opposite gender. Both are well worth the effort.

That's something I've been working on. I've always vocalized my sneezes, with a deep manly sound. I'm trying to break the habit. (OK, ladies. Before I started reading this thread, I was just fine. Now I'm feeling like I need to sneeze!)

My sneezes have always been the subject of "ha, ha" conversations. I cannot help it but they are a very soft and "dainty" ah-chew. For some reason, I entered this life without the correct sneeze programming (according to some self-proclaimed sneezologists). Call it what you want to but that is my sneeze and I'm sticking to it! Why not? It gets the job done! At this point in my life, there is no reason for sticking to gender stereotypes LOL.

So as Cheryl T asks, "How do you sneeze like a woman"? Beats me! I know several GGs who can topple trees with their billows. So that dispels any preconceived notion about the classic "woman's sneeze". So when the urge strikes, just let your instinctive "auto-pilot" take over and blow it out however you like! Hmmmm - that didn't sound right!. Maybe I should stop while ahead.
Someone else's imagination is a terrible thing to waste.

Well, I'm with Amanda on this one. I sneeze so hard that my wig would FALL OFF and there would be no doubt for blocks.

I always try to reduce the possible tells so I don't mind going a bit more neutral. I don't think about it enough to practice it seriously.

I have a pretty masculine sneeze too, but I figured out if I plugged my nose right before sneezing it's pretty much silent

I've heard a good let 'er rip sneeze refered to as an upper body orgasm. So, may as well enjoy it. I tend to feel better after a good blowout .

I guess my sneeze is sort of medium. If Im lucky enough to be prepared for it, sneezing into a pile of tissues or napkins muffles the sound decently without having to actually hold in the sneeze. Im kind of scared of holding in sneezes, actually, and I only do it if Im in a crowd or something, and theres nowhere for the sneeze to go. One of these days Im really going to hurt myself doing that.

Never thought about the problem of sneezing !
Now I come to think of it most GGs tend to tail off with a high pitched OOOh !! but the ground doesn't shake !
Most guy's bring their lower vocals chords into it and the ground tremors ! I can't say I'll ever pass the sneezing test !
Then as Amanda said you have to go and retrieve the wig, which you hope didn't get blown too far !!

My sneezes tend to be part Fred Flintstone, part Ralph Kramden. I've been fairly lucky so far, as I fear one of my typical sneezes would send my wig flying off
