    Oops!

I went out for a walk today around the streets of my town like I do every day.As Iwas walking around the corner a big wind gust
came up and blew my wig off.And sure enough there was a lady about 20 feet away walking towards me.She didn't say anything
    or laugh which shocked me.

Lots of the online wig shops have tape and a headband that helps.

Michelle it would have been more comforting if she said," I've just had the same problem !! "
I did think you were going say the wind revealed more somewhere else ! Not a good situation with a lost wig and a skirt hem blown up around your waist !!

I take it the wig didn't blow down the sewer or a dog didn't run off with it.

I've never tried it but you should be able to use hairpins to pin the wig to your natural hair.. If you don't have natural hair, see if you can find sone double sided tape to hold it on.

I strongly advise wig clips...they sew into the cap at front and back, providing great security and in my view a better fit.

Wig clips aren't any use to us folically challenged baldies. I use a strip of double-stick wig tape at the nape of my neck, holds the wig in place and saves me from the tell-tale tranny tug. If I'm wanting to wear a hat over my wig, say a cowboy hat to complete my outfit, I'll add a second tape at the front. More than a match for stray gusts of wind!

D__ Wind, out here in Wyoming we have wind too much of the time, I make sure it on very good before going out side, I now have new hair piece (lacy front)with hair pins like that graps your hair in four locations so it really stays on. I glad no one made a seen hugs.

That is good that you didn't get much reaction. Many women wear wigs. Health problems can impact women even more than men. Many black women cut their hair really short - buzz cut almost and just wear a wig all the time.

Many women just don't like to fight with their hair all the time.

Some wigs come with a small comb at the front and back. That is ok if you have hair, but some of us are ok with hair at the back, but front and top...nothing.

That's a new one to me as well, as as I am hoping to get a wig or two soon, this sounds like something good to know.

It's when we nervously reach to the nape of the neck or to the forehead to be sure the wig is still in place. Perhaps the most common gesture at a trans weekend event.
