    A good day

Day by day. That's how I live these days. Last week I talked to the VP where I work, told her I was trans. She was awesome. So the steps toward being myself at work have started.
Today, with much trepidation, I sat down with my 22 year old son and told him. He was awesome.
So far, and I'm no fool...I know this won't last forever...but so far...everyone I have told has been amazing.
I am blessed...I don't understand how or why...but I am blessed that the people in my life are the salt of the Earth.
I am very humble and very grateful today.
Every fear that held me back, when faced, has proven to be hollow.
Courage is not the lack of fear, but the willingness to ignore it.
It's your life. Make it count.

    Hi Samantha,

Am very happy for you. I also have a few more to come out to down the road. I am thinking of a good friend right now, a long tim elementary friend. Hope he will not freak. He is a Monthy Python fan, he will surely come with the Loretta joke from Life of Brian. But I am willing to take it. I just hope (know) he likes me more that not accepting this. On the other hand, I think without this information, he will not understand me better and we will not be able to discuss life as we did up till now.

    Kiises,

    Detty

Wonderful story, congratulations. I was touched by the part about your son, you must feel pride too, as you raised him.

    Yaaay Sammie!!!

I'm sure you are justifiably very grateful... but so should everyone else be for having you in their life too...

You're an inspiration and a very fine example of a good person who deserves the respect and consideration that you show so much of towards others... I hope it continues long time for you!

Good for you and for that VP and your son! The awesome people in your life are probably a reflection of the awesome person you are. I agree with Fortuneta, that sometimes good things happen to good people. (that doesn't mean people who get bad reactions deserve them though! sometimes it's just the "luck of the draw")

I am very happy that things are moving very nicely in your transition, but like the others are saying, people are accommodating because people like you for who you are and no matter if you are male or female, you are still a good person and want to be your friend regardless...

    God bless.
