Nearly 65 and have had this special part of me for as long as I can remember but for most of my life kept it a secret. Did not come out to my wife whom I adore until I came to like and accept myself a number of years ago. Now things are just hunky-dory. My wife now understands and believes in me. She has actually borrowed a dress or two on occasion. Also she now never runs out of panty hose. And when she needs her roots done or her hair streaked, she knows I'm always there. She knows the benefits. Lucky both of us.

Escapism isn't necessarily bad, but is definitely unhealthy in the long term. While helpful in the short term, things will degrade over time. At some point, the escapee will have to face the issue. Things simply blowing over isn't really going to happen in many situations.
