I love it when a lady owns her look. Your silhouette is perfect, get that dress in every color.

Nice to hear that you had a great time dispite the initial nerves. I, too, have been lucky to have been escorted by a fellow (or is that sister) crossdresser who was more than happy to go out with me dressed and him in guy mode. As you say, he becomes your rock and also adds verisimilitude to you as a normal couple.
Good luck on your next outiing. It does get easier.

    Thank you all so much!

And thank you for the compliments on my dress. I made so many mistakes that day, such as with shoes, nails, accessories (or lack thereof), and a million other little things, at least I got the dress right!!

I'd like a "do over" please, now that I know what NOT to do on a date as a woman!
Been around for a while, been away for a while. On the verge of coming back...Help me!

This is the post I read with the most interest...I've had a 'date' fantasy for a while. I REALLY could feel for you with all the 'issues' on the date (heels especially! what a pain!).
I really want to hear if there was/will be another date. Dress cooler....hard if you like longer sleeves like I do. I appreciate how you described how you felt and the part about having a hard time enjoying things at times.
BTW-he is a SWEETHEART. Such a patient and understanding man- a gem you should keep.

What a wonderful first date! It sounds like Jim was a real gentleman, too.

Sephora is wonderful. Don't worry that they all knew you're a CD. Knowing lets them help you to better deal with the differences we need for looking our best - such as the need to cover and smooth the beard area. That's one store where i don't mind being known for a CD. Their sales staff are always kind and welcoming.

If it were me, I would have stopped at a shoe department for new shoes right after the makeover, since those shoes were not working out. But I don't mind chatting with people en-femme, so dealing with the sales associates in a mall store isn't a big deal for me, and I guess it would be for you. And frankly, they don't usually have large enough sizes in stock in the mall stores for girls like us, anyway.

Enjoyed reading about your experience, and seeing your pictures. The stress that was felt is natural, and to be expected. First time out en femme took courage, and your description of waiting alone at the mall entrance for the car to be pulled up takes guts. The honesty in your remarks are noteworthy, as the details were so encompassing of your experience. The perception of what was occurring around you made for interesting reading. Perhaps another try will allow you to ride the wave of a happier experience.

Loved the video; Jim seems to have a great attitude and a wicked sense of humor. I'm glad you were able to feel comfortable even after your qualms; this is a pretty big jump for anyone and nervousness is quite understandable; if nothing else, you've definitely crossed a biggie off your bucket list.
ALWAYS plan for the worst, then you can be pleasantly surprised if something else happens!
