I'm pretty envolved in pre-1840 period encampments. We set up as small rendezvous and stay in period dress the whole time. It's a lot of fun. I also work at the local Ren faire. I've been going (while in complete costume) to that for about 15 yrs. I just love costuming, of any kind.
Our unit reenacted the 150th battle of Perryville. We'll be back again next year. Beautiful battlefield. If you get a chance you should try to make it out. It will be in Oct so you have some time, lol.
