When I started, thought that once I had all the basics (wig, breast forms, a couple of outfits, shoes and makeup) that there would not be much more to buy. Sure was wrong about that. As I dress more frequently, I want/need to expand my wardrobe for the different seasons. I can see it getting expensive if not careful but shopping and dressing sure is fun.

Buying girly things can be extremely addicting. I have just come to the realization that Tanya now needs her own room.

I'm definitely guilty of this too. For so many years, it was so hard to find ANYTHING in my size, that when I find something, I want to buy it in every color it comes in, because I don't know if I'll ever see it for sale again. So when Donald Seneca started making those cute plaid/tartan schoolgirl skirts, I HAD to buy one in every color. Bras are hard to come by that fit guys, too. So I have two of every color, and a few more still in the packages for when the ones I'm using wear out. Stockings, shoes, wigs, dresses, yup when I find something that feels especially good and fits, I gotta have it. In every color available. And I've been right; very often, right after I buy them, POOF! Gone! Discontinued, out of stock (forever), unavailable. So I have lots of duplicates. Almost enough to fill two closets with identical outfits.

Of course, women's shoes/boots are the worst when you wear a size 16 (mens). There are actually more fetish styles than normal ones.

There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.

I admit I don't even buy guy clothing anymore (SO does for me as absolutely nessesary) 😉 I'm actually saving money though, I used to spend a small fortune at Harry Rosen (Canadian high end men's wear) but given I'm not a size freaking 0 I don't 'fit' the high end women's wear places (Holt Renfrew) 😠 Long Tall Sally is higher priced than a lot of places but given I can rock the entire rack and knowing where I came from, it's not all that bad ☺

I did spend a lot for a while, but I have a lot if nice outfits now, so I'm not compelled to spend as much. These days I'm trying to get the most out of the stuff I've got. Besides, my closet is full.
