I just spent about half an hour on the phone with a call center straightening out a billing problem. I’m assuming the call center was busy and probably noisy since the entire time the lady on the other end kept referring to me as “Ma’am” . And I wasn’t even 'dressed'!

I've been called Ma'am when in male mode and sir when enfemme.
I try not to let it get to me but it does at times.
