Just wondering if any one can recommend a good place to live in the US for all activities related to
cross dressing. I heard Portland Oregon is one of the best places .

How is it in the Strip hotels and casinos? I was thinking of visiting Vegas sometime soon and I'd like to spend all or most of the time dressed. Any places particularly good or bad?

Central Ky is where I reside and its really very laid back and accepting.
Jacksonville FL. They have a great club there called Plum that is very well secured and safe. Most of all...it is amazing fun!!!
be sweet for me

Greenwich Village in Manhattan (NYC) is good. So, I'd think, are many other parts of the city. LA, San Francisco, I'm sure have neighborhoods where you could exist without anyone caring. There's supposedly a town up in Massachusetts or Rhode Island where they host some type of TG or crossdressing festival each year, so I'm sure that would be good, too.
Some causes of crossdressing you've probably never even considered: My TG biography at:http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/...=1#post1490560
There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.
I think New Hope PA is a great place, people are very friendly too
There are sections in most major cities where people are accepting of "alternate lifestyles". In the same cities there are sections where a crossdresser should not go. Or even any non-resident should not go. When I think of alternate lifestyles, I think of San Francisco, CA. I've never been there though.

Jenn A --- nothing fancy, just me.
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!
PDX is indeed a very accepting place...I feel totally fine and safe being Helen here.
Indeed, this afternoon I am taking my daughter's car to get its snows removed and will later go visit a GG friend at a restaurant downtown -Oba- and I will be looking lovely, and proud of it.
Hugs
Helen
I live in SF Bay Area and we have a wonderful inclusive and supporting environment !

anywhere is safe and anywhere is dangerous. Be in the wrong place at the wrong time and you can have trouble. I do not think the where or the who is there are the primary concerns. It's more about YOU. Behave like a normal human and anywhere seems ok. That is evidenced by the numbers of people here from every corner of the states.
West Hollywood, if you are in the Los Angeles area
Not a woman, I just enjoy looking and feeling like one now and then!
I've been out as Lainey in San Francisco and Las Vegas and felt safe & accepted.
I've been out and about many places with no problems:
Dallas, TX
Austin, TX
Many smaller towns between Austin and Dallas
Oklahoma City
Kansas City (both KS and MO)
Des Moines, IA
And several other places that aren't exactly known as TG friendly.
I think you can live pretty much wherever you want.
Kansas City, MO is awesome! I always felt safe, and welcomed, pretty much anywhere in the metro area.
There are certainly places which are more accepting of alternate lifestyles, and easier to blend and feel comfortable. But you also have to be able to afford to live there and find employment. If you are considering moving, then you should look at the relative job markets and costs of living. Provincetown, for example, is a terrific place to visit and feel comfortable, especially in the summer, but it is very difficult to find full time employment. Greenwich Village, and other parts of Manhattan offer diverse employment opportunities, but the cost of living is significant. Be careful and make sure you can economically afford to move someplace which seems accepting unless you can find a good job and afford to live there.
Bloomington Indiana is pretty good.
For legal protection the State of Washington is a lot more progressive than many other states. There is further legal protection is the larger cities such as Seattle and Tacoma. State law applies 'hate crime' status to adverse action against gays, lesbians, transgender men and women, and, cross dressers. And, the hate crime law also applies if the motivation is hatred toward one of those classes, if the perpetrator believes the person is of that class whether or not he or she is of that class.
Seattle is a very accommodating and relatively safe place.
Atlanta, Georgia is a very safe and welcoming place for crossdressers.

Kentucky, from the larger cities to the very small rural towns. I never had a problem in either.😀
I"d venture a guess that most college towns are pretty good places. I've heard Asheville NC is a welcoming place for cd's and I know from experience that New Hope Pa is terrific.
That is the point. Of course an assailant may not be deterred by any law. However, it is up to the charging district attorney or city attorney to make the decision to charge an assailant with the enhancement. And, locally, they do. In other states, which have absolutely no protection afforded gays, lesbians and transgender men and women, it seems as if it is open season to abuse those minorities. Or deny them housing and employment and accommodations.
Heck, if you're going to assault someone in Washington State and avoid our hate crime laws you better make sure you're not going to pick on a person who is of a racial or religious group, a veteran, disabled or who is transgender or a gay or lesbian. I'd rather live in Washington State than many others.
