    White wedding

So my wife has decided she wants to renew our wedding vows but she wants to do it in Vegas where no one we know will be so she can wear a suit and I can wear a dress. Was wondering if anyone else has done this if so how was it.

That sounds like a splendid idea. The leading makeover artist (Amy) can help with the look if you need and the wedding chapels are always respectful and nonjudgmental of how you want your special day.
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
    Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!

It should be fun and speaking to celebrants in Vegas you would not be the first, or second, ........ :-)

We had thought about it but not planned it. When we were married (me in boy mode, she in girl mode) in Vegas I did some checking at some of the chapels. You may want to ask if they allow reverse gender weddings, some chapel owners are quite conservative. You should have no problem at some of the chapels.

I dressed up as a bride and my wife dressed as a groom one Halloween.
She did a great job looking like a guy.
My wife did my makeup really bad on purpose, I was so disappointed.
She said I could never look like a woman.
"This is ME" I am not CRAZY, I'm just a GUY who likes dresses!
Since allot of men dress up in woman's clothing that makes it a manly thing to do!
    Much more fun than fishing.
I do construction like house building and I love CD-ing, what's the difference?

This is a dream of mine. Enjoy shopping for your dress, I have been wedding dress shopping a few times and it was great.

I have about 4 dresses i could wear as full out bridals. 2-3 more as casuals.

But no, we have not done this.

Then again we never did the wedding thing either.

My wife has a pathological aversion to attention.

We have discussed this at length- and my wedding gown 'fetish' not withstanding- we will do our own party when and how we feel like it.

I get to play in dresses, she gets to eschew the dresses.

We got a few negative responses... but we have been married for over a quarter of a century. And all of the idiots who 'pooh-poohed' our way of union.. they are divorced.

So: have the wedding of your dreams- but remember the wedding is just a party, with a great wonderful white dress.

But marriage is something much deeper, it has NOTHING to do with the wedding ceremony.

Not trying to be the downer here, but i'm just saying... weddings and celebrations: I'm all for them. But they are statistically anti-correlated with lasting marriages.

I have a friend who took my advice. Against the wishes of his family and his brides family, they eloped. Still together after 17 years, 2 kids. Mortgage 3 years from being paid off. zero debt. we get to 'babysit' about once a year- the nicest kids ever- sweet- but not pushovers.

My wife and I have been considering renewing our vows, both in gowns. We thought about Provincetown, but our last thought was to do it in our home church. First thing I would need to do however is come out to them.
As things are now, that mat not be too far in the future. The gowns, on the other hand, may take a while to find. We are both very fussy.
