Xmas Party was great ! Why did I worry ?

My recent threads about not wanting to be seen as a man and my fears about driving home dressed are all behind me now .

Last Saturday I decided to drive to the venue dressed and check in, that wasn't a problem, I met up with Carole who I was sharing a room with and we chatted when we got freshly made up and changed for the party. This was all a first for me and I can't thank her enough for becoming a trusted friend to make all this happen.
So we joined others for pre party drinks and took some pictures and then joined the rest of our group for the meal. By then the other parties had arrived , again another first for me being with other members of the public dressed. The meal went well and after the music started and I was dragged on the dance floor by another member of our group and danced most of the evening with a mixture of our group and several of the wives from the other parties.
I have to say it is easier to dance in heels but what really surprised me is how much easier it is to pick up and dance with other women, it just does happen the same as a guy in those circumstances !

The other great thing I never heard a single comment condemming us, we had no problems using any of the facilites including the washrooms, I will admit I used the disabled ones but then most of the women did when there was a line for the ladies.

We ended the evening having a few drinks with a group of us in one of the bedrooms.

So the next morning Carole and I dressed for breakfast and I drove home still dressed, another forst for me. The only problem I had was when I had to wait to let some near neighbours and good friends drive by before I could pull in my drive, I have a new car so they may not of recognised it but certainly not the driver ! So will something be said ? Who knows !

I've attatched a picture of the Coast dress I wore, it was great to wear on such a fun evening , I can't wait to do it all again.
Also it's the first time I've worn trousers , thats the outfit I drove to and from the venue, sorry the picture isn't too good.

You look wonderful in these pics, Teresa, and so at peace with yourself! I am so happy for you that you got to enjoy this special event the way you did.

But on a more bittersweet note...isn't it frustrating (and sad) that while the GG's who encounter us out in the wild often embrace us with a mixture of curiosity, awe, and respect and are more than happy to interact with us, many of us don't get the same treatment from our own wives and SO's even though unlike these strangers, they are supposed to love us unconditionally, warts (or crossdressing ) and all..?

Another thread about fears that are no longer an issue once out and about. Well done! That black dress could not be more perfect (the tree in the picture is another story!).

Really glad you had a wonderful time and you look fantastic in your outfits. It really is nice to let go the fear and just enjoy ourselves.

I'm partial to the black dress and the wig you wore with it. The whole package makes you look years younger. Very Classy.

    Leslie,
I have to agree with you , in those circumstances it feels easier to integrate with people dressed than it does in guy mode, OK it's not on their doorstep but I wonder how many of the men at the party were frustrated CDers and looked on with a touch of envy. It was quite funny that towards the end of the evening one guy with a full beard and I will add with a very pretty wife, went round giving us all a hug and a kiss on the cheek . I know he was full of Dutch courage but it's the first time I've felt a beard in the context !

    Rogina,
It's a nice thought that my wife should be proud, I'd like to think she would be proud, but then we are talking about the proverbial pig flying by.

I would like to thank you all for your very kind compliments, that dress will definitely be given another outing .

    Kandi,
The tree did need a little more work , not much more could be done for the person standing next to it !

Leslie, it is likely these very same women would react the same way as the wives you speak of, should their own husbands come out to them. They likely all would object initially (some privately and some more overtly), and over time some would come to accept, others would accept reluctantly and merely tolerate it, while others would reject it. It's just so much easier to accept that strangers CDress ... because strangers really have no impact on any of our lives.

Hi Teresa, first and foremost you are most welcome, it is a privilege and a pleasure to be a friend of yours. I know you had a geat time as did we all. As I said, there would be no comments fom the other 2 works groups and again as in previous years they all joined in the dancing after the meal, (if you remember I even had one a lady from 1 of the groups asking me where I got my shoes from and would they fit her!!!). I'm sure you haven't come down from you high yet, but it must have been a bit sobering having to wait for neighbours to clear before turning into your driveway.

It is just a shame that you will be unable to do it all again next month when we hold our anniversary party, still there is always 2018..........

Your dress certainly needs another airing, maybe we should arrange a casino night at one of our monthly meetings so that all can dress to impress again. Don't forget your Christmas Jumper at Friday's meeting tho', and as you say it is a pity that the other company party have had to change their date as we had already been invited to join them after their meal.

We must try a round of golf dressed sometime teehee!!!!

Yes Kandi the tree did look a bit sad.

I agree, the LBD looks great on you, and the tree... not so much. It should have been turned on too.

    Carole,
It was a great time and I must admit I did crash on Sunday for a couple of hours.

As you know it was a list of firsts for me , I needn't have worried, I guess they're notches on my belt now so , I hope I will sleep better before the event next time.

By the way did you get a kiss on the cheek from the guy with the beard ? That was another first but I won't be in a hurry for another !

As for the outfit to go with Xmas jumpers, I'm thinking of going out with a bang before Xmas as I'm missing the 5th, anniversary next year ! Dressing for golf , a great idea !
