Dressing is necessary, the type of clothes you wear not so much.

I hadn't thought much about getting a woman's coat, mostly because of the space it would take. But I wonder if it would feel like a barrier to hide behind to some extent. I could almost see myself shopping in a dress if I could use it to hide somewhat? What experiences have anyone had with wearing coats now that it's winter?

Barbara, I have always enjoyed the feeling and cover of a nice woman's coat. During my last long pink fog around 10 years ago, a long wool coat was absolutely the difference maker in giving me the confidence to walk out the door and venture into some public establishments. It helps in hiding much of my masculine features and feels femme to me. About 6 weeks ago I purchased an Anne Kleine wool/cashmere blend maxi walker coat from Macys (on sale for $160) and I LOVE it!!

In Ohio it can get pretty cold sometimes so , yep , I wear a coat when out . But honestly, I prefer if I don't have to, ( even though I have some cute coats ) I have found I get read less when I show off my figure and maybe am wearing a pretty top with a little cleavage showing . Takes away from people scrutinizing my face . I might add , That the right top that shows off what you have and de-emphasizes any masculine aspects of your body helps .
